Sara Tendulkar's stalker: will not leave her:
I have stalked her many times, will not leave her: Sara Tendulkar's stalker
The middle-aged man – believed to be mentally unstable – who on Sunday was arrested from Mahishadal in West Bengal’s Haldia for allegedly stalking Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara Tendulkar in Mumbai, has now revealed that he has had his eyes on the 20-year-old for a long time. It was earlier learnt that the man, named as Deb Kumar Maity, had made numerous calls at Sachin’s Mumbai house where he had spoken to Sara in an inappropriate manner and had allegedly even proposed to her.
Bhimsen Gaikowar, a member of the Mumbai police team, said: “He also made several lewd comments during his phone calls and even went to the extent of threatening to kidnap her if she rejected his proposal of marriage.”
Debkumar, who is apparently a class XII dropout, revealed more details of the sort of conversation he had with the person he spoke to as he called up Sara's house.
"Aap usko phone dena nahi chahte, (you don't want to give her the phone)," he was quoted as saying by Mid-Day. "Woh sirf meri hai, main uske saath shaadi karunga, woh aur kisi ki nahi ho sakti (she is only mine; I will marry her, she cannot belong to anyone else)," he added.
The report further said that Maity had even revealed that he had followed Sara quite a few times. "Maine (the daughter) ka bohot baar pichhaa kiya hai, main usko nahi chhod ne wala (I have stalked her many times, I will not leave her)," the accused revealed.
A police officer commented on the matter saying, "His (Maity's) cellphone has been seized. He was produced before the Bandra metropolitan court, which has sent him to police custody till January 11."
The accused, who is believed to be a painter by profession, has been suffering from depression since the last few years and has also had behavioural issues. It is not yet known how he got hold of the number to make calls at the Tendulkar residence.
