With reports of another sleaze video of Swami Nityanand surfacing, this time allegedly showing him with another Tamil actress, Yuvarani, many of his erstwhile disciples from the film industry - both from the South and Bollywood - are distancing themselves from him.
It emerges that Vivek Oberoi was a staunch believer in the Swami and had met him several times. Vivek had been introduced to the Swami by his aunt back in 2005. Now, one hears, he is underplaying the connection.
Our source said, “Vivek had been meeting Swami Nityanand quite regularly over the last few years. He was a believer like thousands of others across the country and was shocked when the scandal surfaced. When Vivek first met him, he found it difficult to believe that someone as young as Nityanand could be such an influential spiritual leader. In fact, Vivek used to fondly call him ‘cool dude swami’. He interacted with the Swami many times at his ashram in Bidadi, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Vivek also met him in Mumbai during one of his visits and they were regularly in touch via SMS and phone.”
When contacted, Vivek Oberoi said, “Yes, it’s true that I met him and had a great experience at the spiritual workshop at his ashram. But I have only met him on two occasions. As far as all this news about him surfacing in the media is concerned, I am as confused and shocked as others are. There are various versions of what actually happened, and I don’t want to make a comment until the entire truth is out.”
