Born on December 10, 1996, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Rukmini Vasanth hails from a family with a profound legacy in both military service and the arts.

Father: 

Her father was Colonel Vasanth Venugopal, AC, a highly decorated officer in the Indian Army. He tragically attained martyrdom in 2007 while preventing heavily armed infiltrators in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir. Colonel Venugopal was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime military decoration, making him the first recipient from Karnataka. His sacrifice deeply shaped Rukmini's upbringing.

Mother: 

Her mother, Subhashini Vasanth, is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer and a social activist. She established the Vasantharatna Foundation for Arts (VRFA) in her husband's memory, which is dedicated to supporting war widows and promoting the arts.

Rukmini was educated at various schools in Bengaluru, including the Army School, Air Force School, and the Centre for Learning, reflecting her childhood in a military environment.

Professional Training and Education

Driven by her passion for acting, Rukmini sought formal, high-level training in the performing arts.

She pursued an acting degree from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in Bloomsbury, London.
