“It was because of the love for martial arts, I entered the film industry. It was because of the film industry I could be a part of organising India’s biggest Karate championship here. The students, you can see here, have come from all over India. This year we received around 55,000 applications in comparison to 33,000 last year. We have invited around 4500 students here and have given them a platform to showcase their talent,” said Kumar.
The best five kids of the competition would be sent to Japan to take part in an international tournament. “I would select three to four students and send them to Japan for the international tournament,” said Kumar.

Akki also revealed plans to take his karate invitationals global in order to create a platform for youngsters to cultivate their talent all across Asia
