“He (Dahal) is well-educated and comes from a family with an excellent background. I like him and I respect her (Manisha’s) decision,” Manisha’s politician father Prakash Koirala was quoted as saying.
"We have fixed the wedding date on June 19," said Surendra Dahal, father of the groom and a businessman whose Leather Wings company does rolling business and has associates in Bentinck Street of Kolkata, famed for its leather shops in Chennai, New Delhi, Kanpur and Agra.
The US-educated Dahal owns a company that deals with alternative energy. From Sindhuli district of Nepal, he is the son of Surendra Dahal, the owner of leather wings. It is not sure whether Manisha will quit the tinsel town after her wedding, but Dahal said he would leave it all to her, the paper reported.
The courtship between the couple started a years ago. Three weeks back, Manisha decided to marry Dahal, the report said. According to family sources, priests have proposed June 17 for ‘swayamvar’, June 18 for ‘mehndi’ and June 19 for the marriage, it said. Manisha made her foray into the world of cinema with a Nepali movie, Pheri Bhetaula. In 1991, Bollywood director Subhash Ghai gave her a break in Saudagar.
Previous Engagements:
In 2001, she broke off her engagement to the then Australian ambassador to Nepal, Crispin Conroy, saying she was not yet ready for marriage.
Last year, she was to have tied the knot with American author, speaker and mental toughness trainer Christopher Dorris but the wedding bells did not ring. Now, Nepal's star in Bollywood, Manisha Koirala, is ready to return to her roots by taking the plunge with fellow Nepalese Samrat Dahal.
