After the end of the Shoaib Malik-Ayesha Siddiqui Marriage Controversy with Shoaib agreeing to divorce Ayesha, the Sania Mirza - Shoaib Malik Wedding preparations have started in full swing. There are several rumors floating around regarding the Wedding date itself. Earlier the media was sure that they were going to marry on Friday 9th April as was reported Here. A Pakistani parliamentary Delegation will Attend Shoaib-Sania Wedding Reception
Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has decided to send a parliamentary delegation to attend the much-hyped cross-border wedding of tennis star Sania Mirza and cricketer Shoaib Malik in Hyderabad. The lawmakers will carry Pak PM, Gilani's special gift for Sania and Shoaib, who are all set to marry. Details here

A blow-by-blow account of a busy Saturday afternoon outside Sania Mirza’s house. Two days before the Wedding that is to be held on 12th April 2010
On Saturday afternoon, the Mirza residence had very little actual action. We spotted relatives and friends of Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik in the afternoon busy planning out the preparations for the reception. Close friends of Sania who were spotted at her residence in early afternoon included Lavraj Bhalerao, Nikhil and Anil Yadav busy chatting with Sania’s father Imran at the lawn area near the entrance of the residence discussing about the decoration and light arrangements for the wedding.
Next, we spotted Shoaib’s brother entering the Mirza residence gate in a white car. We saw him carrying two hand bags and three shirts hung in a hanger. We suspect that bags and shirts were of Shoaib who has been confined at Sania's residence since past few days. At the back lane of the residence we spotted two ladies busy preparing food for family members and guests at the Mirza residence.
Around evening, we spotted the floral decorator entering the Mirzas’ residence. Around 8.45pm, Rucha, spokesperson of Sania told us, “Sonia Gandhi has sent her best wishes to the Mirza family for their daughter’s wedding. Sonia has also wished Sania and Shoaib great happiness for their life together. Shoaib’s outfits have arrived from Delhi and he will be wearing a sherwani designed by Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra.
Sania’s uncle Talat Aziz has very graciously agreed to render ghazals for the sangeet. All of Sania’s friends have just had a tiring but fun session of dance rehearsals for the sangeet. The dinner prepared at the Mirza residence was Hyderabadi biryani along with dum ka murgh and kheer puri. The day ended with the customary game of carrom. Who will hog the limelight tonight only time will tell.”
Our sources also inform us, “It is also heard that model turned actress Rakshanda Khan who happens to be good friend of Sania will be attending and performing at the sangeet night with other family members. Imran Mirza has also requested Talat Aziz to share numbers of Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi so as to invite them to attend Sania and Shoaib’s wedding reception on April 15.”
When we contacted Sania’s uncle ghazal maestro Talat Aziz in Mumbai about his plans for the Sania-Shoaib wedding, he informed us, “I’ll be reaching Hyderabad on the evening of April 14 along with my wife Bina. We will attend the wedding and the reception, after which we’ll get back to Mumbai on April 16, as we need to attend the wedding reception of Laila khan.” Ask him about the songs he will be singing at the sangeet ceremony and he discloses, “I have composed a special ghazal for Sania and Shoaib and will be singing for both of them. I have known Sania as a kid as she is my niece. She is very fond of my music.”
So how is Talat Aziz related to Sania Mirza? Talat shares, “Actually Imran Mirza’s mother Raesa, whom I loving call khala, is my aunt and I have been very close to the family for years now. I still remember, in 1976 I had come from Hyderabad to Mumbai for the first time and I was staying with aunt Raesa. Slowly I began interacting with people from Bollywood.
Finally, after a gap of two years, in 1978 I got my first break in the industry. Sania’s father Imran is very close to me and both our families have been in touch for years. Frankly, I haven’t met or spoken to Shoaib, I just got to know few days back that Sania was getting married to Shoaib as I was busy traveling for my shows. It was only after I came back to India post my concert, that I received the invitation card to the wedding reception. Imran personally called me up and requested me to be there for all the wedding functions.”
Elaborating on the details of the marriage celebrations, Talat says, “On April 14 is the Mehndi sanchak or so called the sangeet ceremony which will take place in the evening at the Mirza residence itself. The function will include close relatives and friends of Sania who will perform a surprise dance skit. The party will include not more than 30 to 40 guests, who will dance and perform on the Mehndi night.”
