After Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor may step into Amitabh Bachchan’s shoes Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor might soon take a place on the Kaun Banega Crorepati hot seat, not as a celebrity contestant but as the host. According to media reports, Ranbir is in talks to host the hit game show, taking the reins from superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Since it began in 2000, Kaun Banega Crorepati has been hosted by Bachchan for seven seasons except season three in 2007 when Shah Rukh Khan replaced him. If Ranbir joins the show, it will also mark his television debut. Kaun Banega Crorepati is modelled on the lines of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? where contestants aim to win prize money (Rs 5 crore for KBC) by answering a series of multiple choice questions. Ranbir is also currently busy with his upcoming film Jagga Jasoos with Katrina Kaif. It releases in April.

Crowds will turn out even if Dawood Ibrahim comes in public, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said on Tuesday, targeting Shah Rukh Khan over the death of a man during heavy rush at the actor’s promotion of his film ‘Raees’ for which he travelled by train. Vijayvargiya also took to Twitter to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hit out at Rahul Gandhi using the titles of two upcoming Bollywood films, saying our country’s ‘Kaabil’ is better than the ‘Raees’ of other country, apparently referring to the Congress vice-president’s foreign roots. “There is a new tradition of promoting films. The promoters should at least take care of public convenience. If they promote films in railways, the common people will suffer. Even if Dawood appears in public, crowd will come out. Legendary action star Jackie Chan, who is here to promote his forthcoming film “Kung Fu Yoga”, met Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, during his visit. Salman posted a photograph with the Rush Hour star from their meeting on Monday. The image shows the two actors posing with two stuffed panda toys, sharing a light moment for the camera. Previously, Salman had thanked Chan on Twitter for offering this film to his Dabangg co-star Sonu Sood. Sonu had replied to the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star by tweeting: “Bhai Salman Khan I have an unusual power-packed surprise for you. See you soon in India... Pandeji Hum aah rahe hai. Jackie Chan.” Kung Fu Yoga is part of the three-film agreement signed between China and India during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to India. The film also stars actors Disha Patani, Sonu Sood, Amyra Dastur and Sonu Sood. Directed by Stanley Tong, the action comedy film was shot in India, Dubai and Beijing .

After spending 56 years in the movies, Jackie Chan received an honorary Oscar in 2016, but the action star says he does not work for awards and his only motivation is his fans. Chan, who is in Mumbai to promote Indo-Chinese production Kung Fu Yoga starring in which he stars opposite Bollywood actors Sonu Sood, Disha Patani and Amyra Dastur, said no matter what the results are he will keep working equally hard for his films. “When I make or do any film I don’t think of awards or anything. (My films were considered) cheap action comedy movies. I don’t care as I am not for awards I am for the audience. Even if my films do well at the box office or not do good, or people watch my films or don’t watch my films I will continue to risk my life for every movie,” Jackie told reporters here. “They saw (referring to his work) after 56 years I did not change; I was doing the same thing, which is why they decided to give me the Oscar.
