Shahrukh Khan's 'Male' Surrogate Child Questioned By Radiologists

We have all heard about Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri planning to have third child through surrogacy. However, before SRK can confirm this news there are already controversies building up.

According to Hindustan Times , this news has not gone down well with the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA). The association has asked the state health department to inquire into news reports to claim that the actor’s child through surrogacy is a male.

Shahrukh Khan Wife Gauri

"We have written to the state health department to find out how the actor came to know about the unborn child's sex when sex determination is illegal in India," said Dr Jignesh Thakkar, coordinator for the Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, IRIA.

With an alarming increase in the skewed sex ratio in India, radiologists are extra cautious about health departments conducting illegal sex determination. "Though filling of form F [mandatory while conducting an ultrasound] has nothing to do with sex determination, radiologists are caught for it under the act," said Dr Sanjeev Mani, senior radiologist, Holy Family Hospital, Bandra.

IRIA has sent an email to the top state health department officials, including state health minister Suresh Shetty asking for an investigation and action against those concerned.

Doctors say there is a breach of law on the part of celebrities. "If news reports are true then it is a clear that the celebrities can get away with breaking the law," said Thakker.

According to health experts, the PCPNDT Act does not apply if the sex determination is done outside the country. State health officials are still in the process of collecting information.

What Happened When Sooraj Pancholi's Mother Zarina Wahab Visited Jiah Khan's Residence

When Sooraj Pancholi's mother visited Jiah Khan's residence: An insider's account on what transpired when Zarina Wahab dropped in to visit Jiah Khan's grieving mother Rabiya Amin

Reconciliation, not sorry, seems to be the hardest word. After the events that followed Jiah Khan’s untimely death -- which included Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj getting arrested for abetting the young actress’s suicide -- his mother Zarina Wahab decided to give her grieving counterpart Rabiya Amin a personal visit. Going by the accounts of an onlooker, the meeting didn’t result in many warm moments.

Suraj Pancholi's Mother Zarina Wahab

Jiah Khan With Her Mother Rabiya Amin

Apparently, it was Aditya’s Pancholi’s idea. After Tuesday’s court proceedings, the actor asked an old family friend (a journalist-turned-filmmaker) to meet wife Zarina and daughter Sana at a suburban hotel so as to help them figure out how they can help Sooraj in the forthcoming legal battle. There, Zarina allegedly insisted that meeting Rabiya at her place would be the right thing to do.

The filmmaker, on condition of anonymity, says, “I was surprised to hear that they wanted to meet Rabiya. Intriguingly enough, the building where she stayed is right next to the hotel.”

Nonetheless, the old friend accompanied Zarina and Sana to Rabiya’s apartment in Juhu to convey their condolences and talk for “at least two minutes”. However, Rabiya didn’t take the whole plan too well and in moments of anger, lashed out at Zarina. Watching this drama unfold was Tom Thomas, Rabiya’s alleged current boyfriend.

As expected, the two mothers unabashedly expressed their grievances. According to our source, “Sooraj had visited Rabiya on May 18 and expressing concern at Jiah’s hyper behaviour, had requested her to take her daughter to see a counsellor. Zarina reminded her of that and asked her why she didn’t do the needful.” She also reminded her that Tom was present when that happened.

At this Jiah’s mother stormed inside and Tom rudely asked the three women to leave the place. Interestingly, there was not a single electronic mediaperson standing outside the building when they reached the venue.

On conditions of anonymity, the filmmaker confirmed the incident and stated, “I was unwillingly drawn into this. I was only trying to help both the mothers heal but unfortunately I don’t know how it became a media tamasha. I still don’t know who called the media there.”

Jiah Khan's Suicide Letter Revealed By Her Mother

Jiah Khan's mother Rabiya Khan found six pages of letter in her wallet box when she was searching for poems written by Jiah to be read out at her prayer meet held yesterday.

Jiah Khan

To all concerned,

Some sections of the media and some film industry people are speculating that my daughter Jiah committed suicide because of depression related to her career. However the truth is that it happened only because of the trauma and the abuse she suffered at the hands of Suraj Pancholi and his father Aditya Pancholi.
This I know from what Jiah shared with her sisters and me and also from this letter written by Jiah herself that I am attaching here with which was found three days later by my younger daughter in a wallet box belonging to Jiah when she was searching for some poems written by Jiah to be read out at her prayer meeting.
I have decided to make this letter public so that everyone may know the truth behind my daughter’s tragedy.

Below given is a transcript of Jiah's handwritten letter:.. I am also attaching the photocopies of the actual handwritten pages of her letter

Yours truly Rabiya khan

Here is the text from actress Jiah Khan's suicide letter allegedly addressed to Suraj Pancholi. This letter was shared to the media by Jiah's mother through their publicists.

Jiah Khan's letter allegedly to Suraj Pancholi

“I don’t know how to say this to you but I might as well now as I have nothing to lose. I’ve already lost everything. If you’re reading this I might have already left or about to leave. I am broken inside. You may not have known this but you affected me deeply to a point where I lost myself in loving you. Yet you tortured me everyday. These days I see no light I wake up not wanting to wake up. There was a time I saw my life with you, a future with you. But you shattered my dreams. I feel dead inside. I’ve never given so much of myself to someone or cared so much. You returned my love with cheating and lies. It didn’t matter how many gifts I gave you or how beautiful I looked for you. I was scared of getting pregnant but I gave myself completely the pain you have caused me everyday has destroyed every bit of me, destroyed my soul. I can’t eat or sleep or think or function. I am running away from everything. The career is not even worth it anymore. When I first met you I was driven, ambitious and disciplined. Then I fell for you, a love I thought would bring out the best in me. I don’t know why destiny brought us together. After all the pain, the rape, the abuse, the torture I have seen previously I didn’t deserve this. I didn’t see any love or commitment from you. I just became increasingly scared that you would hurt me mentally or physically. Your life was about partying and women. Mine was you and my work. If I stay here I will crave you and miss you. So I am kissing my 10-year career and dreams goodbye. I never told you but I received a message about you. About you cheating on me. I chose to ignore it, decided to trust you. You embarrassed me. I never went out, I never went with anyone else. I am a loyal person. I never met anyone with Karthik I just wanted you to feel how you make me feel constantly. No other woman will give you as much as I did or love you as much as I did. I can write that in my blood. Things were looking up for me here, but is it worth it when you constantly feel the pain of heartbreak when the person you love wants to abuse you or threatens o hit you or cheats on you telling other girls they are beautiful or throws you out of their house when you have no where to go and you’ve come to them out of love or when they lie to your face or they make you chase after them in their car. Or disrespects their family. You never even met my sister. I bought your sister presents. You tore my soul. I have no reason to breathe anymore. All I wanted was love. I did everything for you. I was working for us. But you were never my partner. My future is destroyed my happiness snatched away from me. I always wished the best for you, was ready to invest what little money I had in your betterment. You never appreciated my love, Kicked me in the face. I have no confidence or self esteem left, whatever talent whatever ambition you took it all away. You destroyed my life. It hurt me so much that I waited for you for ten days and you didn’t bother buying me something. The Goa trip was my birthday present but even after you cheated I still spent on you. I aborted our baby when it hurt me deeply. You destroyed my Christmas and my birthday dinner when I came back. When I tried my hardest to make your birthday special. You chose to be away from me on Valentines Day. You promised me once we made it to one year we would get engaged. All you want in life is partying, your women and your selfish motives. All I wanted was you and my happiness you took both away from me. I spent money on you selflessly you would throw in my face. When I would cry for you. I have nothing left in this world to live for after this. I wish you had loved me like I loved you. I dreamt of our future. I dreamt f our success. I leave this place with nothing but broken dreams and empty promises. All I want now is to go to sleep and never wake up again. I am nothing. I had everything. I felt so alone even while with you. You made me feel alone and vulnerable. I am so much more than this”

Bollywood Reactions to Sanjay Dutt's 5-Year Jail Sentencing

1993 Mumbai Blasts: The Supreme Court on Thursday sentenced Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt to five years in jail for getting guns from gangsters involved in the 1993 bombings in Mumbai. Sanjay Dutt doesn't deserve sentence, says Bollywood

Calling it a "massive blow", Bollywood fraternity expressed sadness and shock after Sanjay Dutt was sentence to five years in jail by the Supreme Court for illegal arms possession during the 1993 serial Mumbai blasts.

The 53-year-old has already served 18 months of his term and will now have to spend three and a half years in jail. The court has given the actor four weeks time to surrender.

Bollywood reacts with shock to Sanjay Dutt's sentencing - Here are some Bollywood reactions on Twitter:

MAHESH BHATT, film-maker "Heart Broken: Just heard that Sanjay Dutt has to go to jail for 5 years. I expected mercy! Alas it did not happen."

VISHAL DADLANI, music director "I stand with @duttsanjay, always will. He's my brother. He made mistakes, but he's served more than his time, in terms of mental stress."
"I am not contesting/denying the law, but it breaks my heart that Sanjay Dutt has to face this. He has done so much, so selflessly for so many!."

KUNAL KOHLI, film-maker "The '93 blast case should NOT be made about Sanjay Dutt. The Real planners are sitting safely in Pakistan like Osama Bin Laden was."

AFTAB SHIVDASANI, actor "Sad to know the verdict on Sanjay Dutt, my heart goes out to him and his family..he was a fighter, is one and will always be one.."

DABBOO RATNANI, photographer "Shattered to Hear about @duttsanjay ...Love Him...He is Like My Elder Brother & has a Pure Heart of Gold. God give Him Strength"

KARAN JOHAR, film-maker "I am truly shattered to hear of Sanju's sentence...the nicest guy i have known just doesnt deserve this...my heart goes out to him...."

ARSHAD WARSI, actor "I am numb, I don't know what to say. Sanjay Dutt is not a criminal. This is too harsh a decision."

BIPASHA BASU, actor "Saddenned n shocked with the news about Sanjay Dutt's Jail sentence.Strength to him n his family."

PRITISH NANDY, media personality “I am amazed how ranters obfuscate issues. Sanjay Dutt goes to jail for possession of illegal arms. Not for the Mumbai blasts.”
"I will be very sad to see Sanjay Dutt go back to jail... where I used to meet him years ago. A second term will destroy the man," tweeted Pritish Nandy.

Subhash Kapoor: "I am in shock and surprised. I personally expected the Supreme Court to be more lenient to him. Have no words to express my shock," Kapoor told.
When asked whether the judgement will affect the fate of the third Munnabhai film, Kapoor said, "It's too early to comment on this issue. My producers Vidhu Vinod Chopra is in America now and Raju (Hirani) is busy shooting 'Peekay'. Once Vidhu gets back, I will speak to him about this. The film was in a very nascent stage."

Anubhav Sinha: "Sending out a big big hug to Sanju. The most forgiving man I know. Sad he could not be forgiven himself,"

Sanjay Dutt Suffered Enough; I’ll Personally go to the Governor: Jaya Bachchan

Delhi: A day after the Supreme Court passed its verdict on the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts – the deadliest terror attack in the country till date, including sentencing Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to a five years’ rigorous imprisonment, several people from the film fraternity have broken out in support of the actor.

The latest in the group of stars who have shown solidarity for Dutt is veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, Member of Parliament, Samajwadi Party. The yesteryears’ star has been quoted as saying, “I will personally go to the governor and appeal for Sanjay Dutt`s release. He has suffered enough.”

Sanjay Dutt’s imprisonment sentence comes in the wake of his 1993 ‘mistake’ – the actor was found in possession of illegal arms. The ‘Munna Bhai’ actor is to file a review petition March 22, and has the option of submitting a curative petition in case his review petition is dismissed by the Supreme Court.

The last option that the actor would have, in case the curative petition too is rejected, is the intervention of the Governor of Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Governor, in turn along with the government of Maharashtra, can appeal for the actor’s sentence to be reviewed.

While almost all of the Hindi film industry have been heard and seen coming out strongly in support of Sanjay Dutt, the son of late superstars Sunil Dutt and Nargis, common people have taken to offering their prayers at religious places. The Ajmer Dargah saw many footfalls, on March 22, praying for Sanjay Dutt’s release. Online petitions, too, have been filed in favour of dismissal of the actor’s imprisonment sentence.

Sanjay Dutt Gets 5 Years in Jail in 1993 Mumbai Blasts Case

The Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of actor Sanjay Dutt and has sentenced him to five years imprisonment. The actor has four weeks to surrender. The court said that the circumstances and nature of the offence was so serious that Dutt cannot be released on probation.

The apex court upheld the conviction of Sanjay Dutt under Arms Act in 1993 blasts case, but reduced the six year jail term given by TADA court to five years.

The apex court said it agreed with TADA court's decision to acquit him of terror charges but offences under Arms Act were clearly made out for possessing and later destroying weapons of prohibited calibre.

Sanjay Dutt, who has already served nearly 18 months in jail, will now have to go to jail and serve the remaining term.

Dutt will not be able to shoot pictures during the remaining three and a half years of prison term, the apex court said.

The judgement was delivered by a bench of Justice PS Sathasivam and BS Chauhan. The judges only read out the excerpts of the voluminous judgement that lasted for one and a half hours.

Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to a jail term of six years for illegal possession of firearms acquired from terrorist acquaintances, who were responsible for the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts on July 31, 2007.

He was granted bail by the apex court on November 27, 2007.

A total of 257 persons were killed and 713 others injured when a series 13 coordinated explosions shattered the metropolis on March 12, 1993.

The blasts occurred at 12 places including Bombay Stock Exchange building, Air-India Building at Nariman Point, at Worli opposite Century Bazaar, Hotels Sea Rock and Juhu Centaur.

Shah Rukh Khan's Outlook Magazine Article/Column Creates National Uproar

In a strange and bizarre turn of events, Shah Rukh Khan's special column written for the Outlook Turning Points Magazine (Special Agenda 2013) in association with The New York Times newspaper has created a sorts of national uproar in India and a cross border war of words between Indian and Pakistani politicians.

For the special edition of the Outlook Magazine, SRK was invited to write an opinion column on what it means to be a Muslim in India and globally post 9/11. Shahrukh Khan's Outlook Magazine Column is titled:

"Being a Khan: What it means to be a Muslim in the post-9/11 world. And what India means for the world as a Muslim power."

Shah Rukh Khan's Outlook Magazine Cover - Being a Khan

In Shahrukh Khan's Outlook Magazine Article he writes:

"I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India. There have been occasions when I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighbouring nation rather than my own country - this even though I am an Indian, whose father fought for the freedom of India. Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave and return to what they refer to as my original homeland.

I gave my son and daughter names that could pass for generic (pan-India and pan-religious) ones - Aryan and Suhana. The Khan has been bequeathed by me so they can't really escape it. I pronounce it with my epiglottis when asked by Muslims and throw the Aryan as evidence of their race when non-Muslims enquire. I imagine this will prevent my offspring from receiving unwarranted eviction orders or random fatwas in the future.

I became so sick of being mistaken for some crazed terrorist who co-incidentally carries the same name as mine that I made a film subtly titled My Name Is Khan (and I am not a terrorist) to prove a point. Ironically, I was interrogated at the airport for hours about my last name when I was going to promote the film in America for the first time."

SRK further writes:

"My first learning of Islam from my father was to respect women and children and to uphold the dignity of every human being. I learnt that the property and decency of others, their points of view, their beliefs, their philosophies and their religions were due as much respect as my own and ought to be accepted with an open mind. I learnt to believe in the power and benevolence of Allah, and to be gentle and kind to my fellow human beings, to give of myself to those less privileged than me and to live a life full of happiness, joy, laughter and fun without impinging on anybody else's freedom to live the same way.

The living of my life has enabled me to be deeply touched by the love of millions of Indians.

Beneath the guise of my superstardom, I am an ordinary man. My Islamic stock does not conflict with that of my Hindu wife's. The only disagreement I have with Gauri concerns the colour of the walls in our living room and not about the locations of the walls demarcating temples from mosques in India."

Despite SRK firmly reaffirming his allegiance to and patriotism and love for his country India in his column, a Pakistani politician called Hafiz Saeed strangely commented that SRK "can move to Pakistan if he does not feel safe in India."

Then came the odd comments of Pakistan's interior minister Rehman Malik, who said that "India should provide security to SRK."

These two comments have created an uproar in India. Articles have been written in some Indian media outlets that strangely bash SRK for the words of Pakistani politicians. Social networking sites are abuzz with the matter, with some people even more strangely asking SRK to comment/apologize for his column and for what the Pakistani politicians have said.

SRK's fans and friends have also come out in droves from India and around the world on social networking sites, supporting SRK and condemning the "defamatory" articles by some Indian media outlets and comments by those who hate SRK. SRK has been trending on Twitter nonstop for more than 24 hours now. A source close to SRK was quoted as saying that SRK is very upset at the comments of the Pakistani politicians.

Indian politicians have also joined in, including India's home minister:

"We are quite capable of looking after security of our own citizens...let him (Malik) worry about security of his own." -RK Singh, India's home minister

"Rehman Malik's remark is condemnable and hilarious when you consider that everyday Pakistanis are killing each other. Muslims in India are totally secure. We don't need any compassion or support from Pakistan." -Maulana Khalid Rasheed

"SRK is a nationalist and a national icon, he should give a befitting reply to Pakistan." -Rajiv Pratap Rudy, BJP

"Its better if Malik does not meddle in our affairs. SRK should be given security or not is to be decided by us not Pakistan." -Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena

"According to our constitution, all are equal. As for Malik, he should think about securing minorities in Pakistan first."
