Guzaarish Has a Poor Week 1 at the BO
Guzaarish had a poor first week at the box office with collections of around 22 crore nett. The film did not start well while collections dropped on weekdays and collections are also low on the 8th day. Guzaarish is a Flop at the box office
Guzaarish Collected approx. Rs. 14.25 cr. in its opening weekend and about Rs. 7 cr. on weekdays. The total for Week 1 stands at approx. Rs. 22 cr. nett. The weekend was below average, while weekdays remained steady on the lower side. The film has found appreciation, but that hasn't translated in its business. Ideally, the film should've had a Rs. 35 cr. + Week 1, despite a slow start. The film has cost Rs. 60 cr+ to UTV, of which Rs. 25 cr. has been recovered from the sale of Satellite and Music Rights. The balance amount [Rs. 35 cr.] has to be recovered from India and Overseas theatrical [also Home Video], which now seems remote since the film hasn't collected the desired numbers in India and also Overseas. The second week opening [Friday] is also on the lower side. Ideally, the total costs of a film that caters to a niche audience [metros basically] shouldn't have exceeded Rs. 35 cr. to Rs. 40 cr. for it to sail safe.
