Shashi Taroor's Ex-First Wife Tilottama Mukherji (or Tilottama Tharoor), is a New York-based academic. 

Tilottama is currently a professor of humanities at New York University. She is known to be a prominent figure in intellectual circles in both Kolkata and New York. Shashi Taroor and Tilottama Mukherji met during their college years at St. Stephen’s in Delhi. They married in 1981 and later divorced. They have two sons, Kanishk Tharoor and Ishaan Tharoor. Kanishk and Ishaan are Twins. Both Sons have pursued careers in journalism and writing. Tilottama has been seen at some literary events, book launches, and film festivals, likely due to her academic background and interest in literature and the arts.

Tharoor's first wife was Tilottama Mukherji, a half-Bengali and half-Kashmiri academic and the granddaughter of politician Kailash Nath Katju. She pursued higher studies at St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and later at the University of Delhi before furthering her education at The Sorbonne (University of Paris) and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University, USA). Tharoor and Mukherji had been college sweethearts. The two met during their college years at St. Stephen’s and were married in 1981.  After their marriage, Tilottama took her husband's last name and began teaching English at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and also worked as a freelance writer. Their twin sons, Kanishk and Ishaan, were born prematurely in 1984 at the KK Hospital in Singapore. Ishaan is a former senior editor at Time magazine, and now writes on foreign affairs for The Washington Post. Kanishk is a former editor at Open Democracy and is the author of the highly praised short story collection Swimmer Among The Stars. Tilottama is currently a professor of humanities at New York University.

Tharoor and Tilottama were divorced at some point. In 2007 Tharoor married Christa Giles (View Pictures of Christa Here), a Canadian diplomat working at the United Nations. This marriage was short-lived. Tharoor next married Dubai-based businesswoman a Kashmiri Pandit Sunanda Pushkar (View Pictures and Details of Shashi-Sunanda Wedding Here) at his ancestral home in Elavanchery village in Kerala's Palakkad district on 22 August 2010. He became her third husband and step-father to her son Shiv Menon, born of a previous marriage. On 17 January 2014, Pushkar (aged 51) died at The Leela Hotel in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, under mysterious circumstances.

    Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. While finding him not guilty, the High Court had said there was no evidence to prove that the animals who were found dead were shot by Mr Khan's licensed gun.     Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least. The terrific promotions as well as no major opposition to contend with are two factors that should have gone in its favor.
