Emerging Indian actor and model Ruchi Gujjar made a striking and unconventional debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, turning heads and igniting widespread discussion with a unique accessory: a necklace featuring pendants of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face. Her bold fashion choice, paired with a traditional Rajasthani gold lehenga, quickly went viral across social media platforms, making her one of the most talked-about Indian personalities at this year's festival.

Pictures of Ruchi Gujjar is an emerging actor and model who is making headlines after she flaunted her PM Modi necklace that has gone viral on social media.


Talking about the same, Gujjar was quoted saying, “The necklace is more than jewellery—it’s a symbol of strength, vision, and India’s rise on the world stage. By wearing it at Cannes, I wanted to honour our Prime Minister, whose leadership has taken India to new heights.”



Gujjar, a former Miss Haryana (2023), chose a custom-made golden lehenga by designer Roopa Sharmaa, adorned with intricate mirror work, Gota Patti, and zardozi embroidery. This traditional ensemble was a clear nod to her Rajasthani heritage. However, it was the necklace, with its multiple pendants showcasing PM Modi's likeness framed by pearls and red enamel lotuses, that truly stole the spotlight.

Speaking about her choice, Gujjar stated that the necklace was "more than just jewelry—it's a symbol of strength, vision, and India's rise on the world stage." She emphasized her intention to "honor our Prime Minister, whose leadership has taken India to new heights," by wearing it at Cannes. She further explained that she wanted to carry that pride with her, representing Rajasthan and India on the international stage.

While her patriotic statement garnered praise from some for its audacious cultural pride, it also sparked a significant backlash. Many social media users criticized the placement and appropriateness of the necklace, with some questioning her motives and accusing her of seeking publicity in a disrespectful manner. 

Originally from Mehara Gujarwas Khetri village in Rajasthan and a graduate of Maharani College in Jaipur, Ruchi Gujjar moved to Mumbai to pursue her dreams in the entertainment industry. She has featured in music videos such as "Jab Tu Meri Na Rahi" and "Heli Mein Chor," and has been charting her course as an actor and model. Her Cannes appearance, though controversial, has undeniably brought her into the international limelight, cementing her as a figure willing to make a distinct statement.
