In a candid revelation that has raised the interest of Bollywood fans, model-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim has recently shared intimate details about his two-year relationship with superstar Deepika Padukone from their early days in Mumbai. Speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ibrahim claimed that it was Deepika who made the first move, and he was the one who eventually broke off the relationship.

Muzammil Ibrahim, who rose to fame after winning the Gladrags Manhunt India pageant in 2003 and later ventured into films like Dhokha and the web series Special Ops, stated that he and Deepika were in a relationship for two years when she had just moved to Mumbai to pursue modeling. "I was the first guy she met in Bombay," he revealed, adding that their relationship was his "first serious relationship."

According to Ibrahim, Deepika was quite confident even in her budding days, partly owing to her father Prakash Padukone's renowned name in sports. He fondly recalled the early days of their romance, painting a picture of youthful simplicity. "We were kids then. We would go on dates in a rickshaw in the rains. That was very cute," he shared. He also mentioned that he had started earning better than her at the time and even bought a car, which made her very happy.

Interestingly, Ibrahim stated, "Deepika proposed to me, and I left." When asked if he regretted his decision to end the relationship, he emphatically said no. "I never regret leaving anyone. I am a tough guy, brother. I was a star at that time; she was not. She is a superstar now. Everyone knows her, nobody knows me. I am a big fan. I love watching her movies. She is a beautiful woman. She is doing so great, but the fact is what it is," he explained, expressing genuine admiration for her current success.

Muzammil also clarified that while they drifted apart after the breakup, they maintained cordial relations for years. "Before she got married [to Ranveer Singh in 2018], we would talk sometimes," he said, adding that they would occasionally congratulate each other on their achievements. However, he confirmed that their communication has ceased since Deepika's marriage.
