Salman's Driver Ashok Singh's Wife Says She was proud that her husband decided to confess the truth and prove his loyalty.

New Delhi: Days after Salman Khan's driver Ashok Singh admitted to the court that he was driving the car on the ill-fated night of the 2002 hit-and-run accident, his wife told an English newspaper that she came to know about the accident only through news channels.

According to a leading daily, Ashok's wife Anita said that neither her husband told her anything about the accident in the past 13 years nor was she aware that he was going to the court to confess that he was driving the car and not Salman.

She said that he only told her that he was going to the court like every other hearing. She was proud of her husband that he decided to confess the truth and prove his loyalty.

On being asked the reason behind her husband's silence all these years, she said that he got scared after seeing policemen around Salman at the police station.

She further rubbished all rumours which suggest that Salman paid a huge sum of money to Ashok so that he could take the blame on him, and said it was fabricated news.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least. The terrific promotions as well as no major opposition to contend with are two factors that should have gone in its favor.
