Fresh reports suggest that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has initiated legal action against veteran actor Paresh Rawal, seeking a hefty ₹25 crore in damages following Rawal's sudden exit from the film. This development marks a significant turn in the saga of the beloved comedy, with the future of the iconic trio now in question.


According to multiple reports, including those from Hindustan Times and Business Standard, Akshay Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films, has sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal. The lawsuit reportedly alleges "unprofessional conduct" and breach of contract, claiming that Rawal walked out of the film after signing a legal agreement and even commencing the shoot. Sources indicate that filming for "Hera Pheri 3" reportedly began in April 2025, with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal initially on set.

Paresh Rawal's Stance and Director's Reaction:

Paresh Rawal, who plays the unforgettable character of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Babu Bhaiya), confirmed his exit from the film on social media. He denied reports of creative differences with the filmmaker, Priyadarshan, stating on X (formerly Twitter): "I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director."

However, the exact reason for his departure remains a point of contention. Some reports suggest he simply "did not feel like being a part of the film" anymore, while others cite an alleged demand for a fee hike, with some sources claiming he was offered three times his usual remuneration.

Director Priyadarshan, who is helming "Hera Pheri 3," expressed surprise at Rawal's exit, stating that he was unaware of the decision. He affirmed that both Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty were onboard before filming began. Priyadarshan also supported Akshay Kumar's legal action, acknowledging that Akshay has invested significantly in the film.

This isn't the first time Paresh Rawal has walked away from a project after committing. Past instances include "Billu Barber" and "Oh My God 2." In earlier interviews, Rawal had also voiced disillusionment with the creative direction of sequels, lamenting that filmmakers often "encash on sequels but do something different with the character."
