Wing Commander Singh was commissioned as a helicopter pilot in the IAF on December 18, 2004. She has over 2,500 flying hours on Chetak and Cheetah helicopters, operating in challenging terrains like Jammu and Kashmir and Northeast India. Her early service included reconnaissance, troop transport, and rescue missions. In November 2020, she led a significant rescue operation in Arunachal Pradesh. She received a permanent commission in the Flying Branch on December 18, 2019.

She played a prominent role in the media briefing for Operation Sindoor alongside Colonel Sophia Qureshi, highlighting the increasing role of women in the Indian military. During the briefing, she stated that the operation aimed to deliver justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack and confirmed the successful destruction of nine terror camps while minimizing civilian casualties.

Born in Lucknow, her name "Vyomika" means "dweller in the sky" or "daughter of the sky," which aligns with her career as a pilot. She participated in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) during her school and college days. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in environmental engineering from Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering). She completed her pilot training at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Hyderabad.

Vyomika Singh is the first woman in her family to join the armed forces. Her parents are retired teachers: Mr. R.S. Nim (botany teacher) and Mrs. Karuna Singh (National Council of Educational Research and Training). She has two sisters: Bhumika Singh (scientist in the UK) and Nirmika Singh (poetess and entrepreneur). All three sisters are alumni of the same school. She is married to Group Captain Dinesh Sabharwal, who is also an IAF helicopter pilot and a Vayu Sena Medal awardee.
Other Achievements:
In 2021, she was part of an all-women tri-services mountaineering expedition to Mount Manirang (21,625 feet) in Himachal Pradesh. She has received commendations from the Chief of Air Staff and the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of an operational command for her professionalism and service.
