The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned remarks made by Pakistani artistes in response to India's recent 'Operation Sindoor' and has called for a complete ban on Pakistani actors, filmmakers, and financiers working in India.

The cine body issued a press release earlier today expressing their outrage over statements made by prominent Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan following India's military action. 'Operation Sindoor' was reportedly launched in retaliation to a terror attack in Pahalgam and involved strikes on multiple terrorist hideouts across the border.



According to AICWA, the statements made by these actors not only disrespected the nation but also insulted the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers and the innocent lives lost to terrorism. The association has reaffirmed its commitment to a strict and complete ban on Pakistani talent in the Indian film industry.

"It is time for the Indian film industry to understand that blindly supporting these artists under the pretext of art is a betrayal of national pride," the AICWA stated. They urged Indian artists to refrain from collaborating with Pakistani talent and called upon music companies to cease promoting Pakistani musicians on Indian platforms or sharing global stages with them.

The association specifically criticized individuals within the Indian film fraternity who continue to show sympathy and support for Pakistani artistes, urging them to prioritize national sentiment. "Our nation must come first," the statement emphasized.

AICWA also addressed the issue of freedom of speech, asserting that those who insult the nation should not be privileged with work opportunities in the Indian film industry. The association reiterated its unwavering stance of "Nation First."

Music Companies and Artists Must Take Responsibility It is unfortunate that several Indian music companies continue to promote Pakistani artists, giving them frequent work and exposure. Many Indian singers also share stages with these artists globally, ignoring the sentiments of the nation. AICWA calls upon these companies and individuals to stop supporting Pakistani talent and to stand with the nation. Abir Gulal Movie – A Shameful Example AICWA strongly condemns the filmmakers, producers, and artists of the film “Abir Gulal” for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan despite the Pulwama attack, where several Indian soldiers were martyred. What message do such filmmakers want to convey? They even came to India to release this film, showing complete disregard for the nation’s sentiments. This is a disgrace to the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers. A Call to the Indian Film Industry AICWA urges all stakeholders in the Indian film industry, including Bollywood and regional industries, to respect this ban and prioritize national interest over any so-called “artistic collaborations.” Indian artists and filmmakers must decide whether they will stand with their nation or continue to engage with those who openly oppose it. Those who insult our nation under the pretext of freedom of speech should not be given the privilege of working in our industry.
