Vivek Oberoi-Priyanka Alva Sangeet Ceremony: Wedding preparations and celebrations are in full swing at the Alva household. Wednesday, October 27, was the Sangeet night and bride-to-be Priyanka Alva wore a Tarun Tahiliani lehenga for the occasion. For her wedding, it’s going to be a Rohit Bal white and gold creation. Tuesday night saw Nandini Alva, Vivek’s glamorous mother-in-law, throw a dinner party in honour of the Oberoi family. The Alva residence saw guests streaming in Wednesday morning, 9 am onwards.

Wednesday, October 27, was the Sangeet night and bride-to-be Priyanka Alva wore a Tarun Tahiliani lehenga for the occasion. For her wedding, it’s going to be a Rohit Bal white and gold creation. Bangalore based designer Seema Malhotra (who was the designer for Shekar Kapur’s film Elizabeth) has designed two outfits for Priyanka. Sarita Mandoth has designed four outfits for Nandini Alva. Priyanka has also picked an assortment of saris in Banarasi and Mysore georgettes from Rugs and Riches on Residency Road.
Nandini will be gifting Vivek, a sarpech, specially designed in Jaipur, which the actor will wear for the wedding on October 29. The ceremony will be held according to Punjabi customs and traditions. Nandini, a Sindhi, is the widow of politician Jeevaraj Alva, a Mangalorean. Jeevaraj Alva’s extended family will also be attending the wedding. Some have even flown in from Canada to give Priyanka their blessings.
According to our source, “The alliance was fixed in June and Nandini has worked tirelessly. She is also taking care of 450 outstation guests.”
