Sonam Kapoor becomes new face of jewellery brand Kalyan Jewellers.

Bollywood's 'Masakali' girl Sonam Kapoor, who is riding high on the success of 'Neerja' these days, has replaced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the new face of popular jewellery brand Kalyan Jewellers.

In a statement, Ramesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director, Marketing and Operations of the Kalyan Group has expressed his gratitude to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has endorsed the band for many years, reports PinkVilla. He continued in his statement that they hope that Sonam's popularity will further strengthen the future product campaigns of Kalyan Jewellers.

It is needless to say that the 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' actress's has added another feature in her cap after becoming the face of this jewellery brand. Sonam has garnered appreciation from every part of the country for her commendable performance in Ram Madhvan's biopic through calls, messages and tweets. 'Neerja', which released over 700 screens in India, was released on February 19.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. While finding him not guilty, the High Court had said there was no evidence to prove that the animals who were found dead were shot by Mr Khan's licensed gun. Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least. The terrific promotions as well as no major opposition to contend with are two factors that should have gone in its favor.
