Slumdog Millionaire star, Freida Pinto did break off her engagement to her fiancé. But it wasn't a Bangalore-based businessman as many reported, but a marketing professional from Mumbai and her one-time PR agent, Rohan Antao, who got the kick.

Drifted apart

According to sources, Freida and Rohan have known each other for years. They were always fond of each other but never took it a step further. It was only last year that she realised her feelings for him and they'd begun dating. They got engaged soon after.

A source says, "Freida had kept their relationship discreet and only her close friends knew about them being engaged. Both their families were happy and wanted them to settle down. After the release of Slumdog, Freida was busy travelling. Rohan was very supportive throughout and gave her the required space. But with fame came a lack of communication, causing cracks in their relationship and the eventual break-up."

Freida remained unavailable for comment.

When contacted, Rohan Antao refuses to comment but says, "I am sorry to disappoint you. I like to keep my personal life private."
