Hoax Death Threat Against Tiger Shroff: Punjab Man Arrested

Tiger Shroff faced a security scare yesterday after Mumbai Police received a call claiming a contract had been issued to assassinate him.

Mumbai Police have successfully apprehended a 35-year-old man from Punjab who made a hoax call claiming that Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff was facing a death threat. The accused, identified as Manish Kumar Sujinder Singh, was taken into custody in Kapurthala, Punjab, and is being brought to Mumbai for further questioning.

The incident began on Monday when Singh contacted the Mumbai Police control room, falsely stating that some individuals from a security company known as Trig were plotting to assassinate the actor. He further claimed that a "supari" (contract killing) of ₹2 lakh had been offered, and weapons had been provided to carry out the alleged plan.

Following the alarming call, Mumbai Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and immediately launched an investigation. Their efforts led them to Singh in Punjab, where he was detained with the assistance of the local police.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Singh, who previously worked as a security guard in Mumbai, made the false threat due to a grievance against his former employers. He allegedly claimed that his salary had been withheld by the security firm's manager. In an attempt to seek revenge and tarnish the company's reputation, he is believed to have fabricated the story about the death threat to Tiger Shroff.

While the threat turned out to be a hoax, it prompted immediate concern and heightened security measures in the city. Singh has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for disseminating false information and attempting to provoke public unrest.

This incident follows a similar hoax threat made against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan last week, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement in dealing with such disruptive and misleading calls.

On the professional front, Tiger Shroff was last seen in Rohit Shetty's multi-starrer Singham Again and is currently working on the fourth installment of the Baaghi film series, which is slated for release in September.
