Trailer of Kesari Chapter 2 and other Details of Movie Starring Akshay Kumar, Madhavan, and Ananya Panday: Cast, runtime and Plot

Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is scheduled to release in theaters on April 18, 2025

Here's a summary of what we know about the film:

Plot:

>>  The film is not a direct sequel to the 2019 movie Kesari, which was based on the Battle of Saragarhi. Instead, it's a spiritual successor focusing on a different historical event.
>> Kesari Chapter 2 revolves around the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.

The story follows the legal battle of Advocate C. Sankaran Nair, a former President of the Indian National Congress, who fought to uncover the truth behind the massacre and bring justice against the British Empire.

The film is inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, who are descendants of C. Sankaran Nair.

Cast:

Akshay Kumar plays the lead role of Advocate C. Sankaran Nair.

R. Madhavan portrays Advocate Neville McKinley, who defends the British Crown in the courtroom.

Ananya Panday is cast as Dilreet Gill.

Other actors include Simon Paisley Day as General Reginald Dyer.

Direction and Production:

The film is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.

It is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari.

Music:

The music is composed by Sashwat Sachdeva.

The first song, "O Shera – Teer Te Taj," is a reimagined version of an older song and is composed by Sangtar.

Other Details:

The film has been given an 'A (Adult)' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The runtime is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Early Reviews:

Initial reviews from celebrities and politicians who attended special screenings have been positive, praising the film's portrayal of India's freedom movement and the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Kesari Chapter 2 appears to be a historical courtroom drama focusing on a significant yet perhaps lesser-known chapter of India's struggle for independence.
