"Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari" Movie Review Starring Varun Dhawan and Jhanvi Kapoor
"Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari" Review: A Total, Unabashed Family Entertainer – It’s the Laughter We Needed!
Just walked out of the cinema, and my cheeks genuinely hurt from smiling! Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is the perfect, vibrant, big-screen, Dharma style family rom-com that we've been waiting for. If you’re looking for a stress-buster filled with chaotic weddings, great music, and a genuinely heartwarming love story, book your tickets now.
The Plot: Old Trope, New Tadka
The film, directed by Shashank Khaitan (of the Dulhania franchise fame), has a classic, slightly convoluted 'sabotage-the-wedding-to-win-back-my-ex' premise. Sunny Sanskari (Varun Dhawan) gets dumped by Ananya (Sanya Malhotra), who is marrying the sophisticated Vikram (Rohit Saraf). Sunny then ropes in Vikram's ex, the 'sanskaari' Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor), to crash the lavish destination wedding and make their exes jealous.
Yes, you know exactly where this is going, but the magic is in the execution. The entire film is a whirlwind of a Big Fat Indian Wedding, full of over-the-top outfits, grand sets, and non-stop witty dialogue that keeps the pace electric.

Performances:
Janhvi Kapoor as Tulsi is a delight.
The supporting cast is a huge strength. Sanya Malhotra as the career-driven ex-girlfriend and Rohit Saraf as the mamma's boy Vikram are both excellent, giving depth to the 'other' partners. Maniesh Paul is also brilliant in a key supporting role, injecting more high-energy comedy.

Varun Dhawan is Back in His Element
Varun Dhawan is fantastic as the goofy, golden-hearted, and slightly chaotic Sunny. After a few serious roles, this is Varun back in his absolute comfort zone. His comic timing is impeccable, especially in the running gag with his sidekick Bantu (Abhinav Sharma, who is lovably hilarious). A particular scene where he attempts a Bollywood actor mimicry is an absolute laugh riot-the audience was roaring!
