"Our clients believe that the will presented is bogus and does not reflect their father's true intentions," stated a representative for Samaira and Kiaan's legal counsel, who wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the case. "We are working to expose what we see as a digital footprint of criminal conspiracy embedded within the very creation and presentation of this document."

Sunjay Kapur, who passed away in early 2025, had a complex personal life. He was previously married to Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had Samaira and Kiaan. He later married Priya Sachdev Kapur.
