The much-anticipated Epic-action-drama, Kantara: Chapter 1, has made a thunderous debut at the box office, setting the cash registers ringing and cementing its status as a major pan-India success. The Rishab Shetty directorial, a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, has reportedly crossed the ₹100 crore (net) mark in domestic collections within just two days of its worldwide release on October 2, 2025.

Day 1: A Record-Breaking Start

Kantara: Chapter 1 stormed the box office on its opening day with an estimated ₹60 crore to ₹61.85 crore (net) in India across all its five language versions (Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam). The film's worldwide gross collection for Day 1 is estimated to be around ₹90 crore.

The day one breakdown highlights the film's incredible pan-India appeal:

Kannada Version: Led the collections with an estimated ₹19.60 crore.

Hindi Version: Showed remarkable strength, contributing approximately ₹18.50 crore to the Day 1 total.

This massive opening placed Kantara: Chapter 1 among the top three biggest openers of 2025 in Indian cinema, a monumental achievement for the Kannada film industry. It also shattered the Day 1 collection of the original Kantara (which earned just around ₹1.95 crore net on its first day in 2022), demonstrating the franchise's exponentially increased popularity.
