This massive opening placed Kantara: Chapter 1 among the top three biggest openers of 2025 in Indian cinema, a monumental achievement for the Kannada film industry. It also shattered the Day 1 collection of the original Kantara (which earned just around ₹1.95 crore net on its first day in 2022), demonstrating the franchise's exponentially increased popularity.

Day 2: Sustained Momentum Enters ₹100 Crore Club

Despite Friday being a working day, the film maintained a strong hold, thanks to stellar reviews and powerful word-of-mouth publicity.

Day 2 Collection (Estimated):
The film added an impressive ₹45 crore (net) to its domestic haul.

Two-Day Total (Estimated):
This brought the total domestic net collection to an estimated ₹106.85 crore, making it the fastest Kannada film of 2025 to cross the ₹100 crore milestone.

The film's performance in its home state of Karnataka was particularly outstanding, with occupancy rates soaring past 80% in afternoon and evening shows on Day 2. The Hindi-dubbed version also continued its strong run, further solidifying the film's appeal to a wider audience.

Written, directed, and starring Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 delves into the origin story of the folklore and the Bhuta Kola ritual from the 4th Century CE, a narrative that has resonated deeply with audiences nationwide, promising a continued dominant run over the lucrative opening weekend.
