Despite the celebratory mood, Dhurandhar faced a significant hurdle prior to its release. The film attracted controversy after a formal complaint was filed by the family of the late Major Mohit Sharma, who objected to certain elements in the movie.

However, the film successfully navigated these objections. Following a thorough review, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ultimately cleared the film for release, ensuring that the box office momentum remained uninterrupted.
