Mumbai, January 26, 2026 – Amidst the massive box office success of Border 2, a more personal victory took place off-screen last night. Sunny Deol made a rare and heart-warming public appearance with his half-sisters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, effectively silencing months of speculation regarding a family rift following the passing of their father, the legendary Dharmendra, in late 2025.

The trio attended a special screening of the war epic at the family-owned Sunny Super Sound studio in Juhu, marking their first joint public outing in over a year.

The atmosphere outside the venue was electric as the paparazzi captured a sight many thought they wouldn't see. Sunny Deol, dressed in a casual off-white shirt and a black baseball cap, stood proudly between Esha and Ahana.

The "Father Figure" Bond: In a touching gesture, Sunny was seen resting his hands on his sisters' shoulders, guiding them through the crowd. This protective stance mirrored Esha’s past interviews where she referred to Sunny as a "father figure" within the family.

The rumors of a strain began in November 2025, after the passing of Dharmendra. Fans noted that two separate prayer meetings were held—one by Sunny and Bobby Deol, and another by Hema Malini and her daughters.

However, last night’s screening—which was reportedly organized by Esha Deol herself to support her brother’s film—showed a united front. Esha later took to Instagram to share photos from the night, captioning it:

A Bittersweet Moment: Dharmendra’s Padma Vibhushan

The reunion was even more poignant as it coincided with the Government of India’s announcement of the Padma Awards 2026. Their late father, Dharmendra, was posthumously conferred with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor.

Esha addressed this in her social media post, expressing her pride: "Happy Republic Day 🇮🇳 Really happy that our papa is being conferred with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan Award." ### Box Office Update: The "Border 2" Juggernaut While the family celebrated together, the film continued its rampage at the box office. Border 2 has officially crossed the ₹120 crore mark in India within its first three days.
