Vidya Balan To Play Silk Smitha, in Ekta Kapoor's 'The Dirty Picture'
Remember Silk Smitha, the dancing queen who ruled the South cinema for many years? Though she was given queen status in reel, her real life was a tragic one that ended in a suicide. After nearly 15 years of her death, producer Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms wants to make a bio-pic on the actress’ life.
The film titled 'The Dirty Picture' will focus on the actress and dancer who died a tragic death after a successful but lonely life. Eka Kapoor has almost finalised the script which took two years to make. Milan Luthra has been roped in to direct the film.
