Shashi Tharoor and fiance Sunanda Pushkar, it seems are busy touring religious landmarks. Recently, both of them were seen together at a Shani shrine in Shani Shingnapur near Shirdi in Maharashtra, where they performed a puja. At Ajmer, seeking blessings before the wedlock, the two offered chader and roses at the shrine, performed Puja at the Pushkar Sarovar and also visited the Brahma temple.
"Pray for our happiness and peaceful life. We need a lot of blessings," Sunanda, a Dubai-based businesswoman, told mediapersons.
To a queston on their soon-to-be-held marriage, the former Minister of State for External Affairs who quit his post in the wake of IPL Kochi row, said the the date would be fixed soon.
Reports say the marriage between the two will be held at Elavanchery near Palakkad in Kerala on August 22.
On controversies dogging the upcoming Commonwealth Games, Tharoor said the mega sporting event should be seen in a positive way. The infrastructure developed for the Games would enhance the country's pride and status, he said.
The former Minister did not say anything when asked about alleged diversion of funds meant for Dalit welfare for the Commonwealth Games.
