Vivek Oberoi To Marry Priyanka Alva in October. Priyanka is Daughter of Bangalore Politician Jeevaraj Alva

He’s been unlucky in love before. But, this time around, he seems determined to find it. Kurbaan actor Vivek Oberoi, according to our sources, is taking the plunge into holy matrimony. The 34-year-old Oberoi is set to tie the knot with Bangalore girl Priyanka Alva, 28, daughter of well known danseuse Nandini Alva and late politician Jeevaraj Alva, who was a close aide to former Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde. According to sources, Vivek will be engaged to London-educated Priyanka in the first week of September. The wedding is set for October, the details of which are a guarded secret as of now

Priyanka is a business management graduate, and, like her mum, she's interested in dance too.

According to sources, the match was arranged with help from Bharatnatyam dancer and choreographer Padmini Ravi, who happens to be Nandini’s BFF. Padmini’s daughter is married to Nandini’s sister’s brother-in-law. Phew! As anecdotes go, Nandini apparently, played matchmaker for that union. The two women are also the trustees of Artistes Foundation for Arts, which organises the yearly Bengaluru Habba, a festival celebrating art and culture, in December. When contacted, Padmini said, “It wouldn’t be fair on my part to comment on this issue.”

The bride-to-be, Priyanka is an extremely level-headed, beautiful and intelligent girl. “She is very non-filmi, sociable and sweet-natured,” reveal some reports.

Priyanka, as described by well wishers and friends is tall, has sharp features and is well articulated.

Vivek, whose recent passion has been writing poetry, had earlier said in an interview that he wouldn’t mind marrying a girl of his parents’ choice. “I am sure the match my parents pick, will turn out to be the girl of my dreams,” he had remarked.

The actor was earlier engaged to model Gurpreet in 2002. The relationship however didn’t work out well. Vivek was then linked to many of his co-stars including Neeru Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez and Aishwarya Rai, who refused to acknowledge the relationship and is now married to actor Abhishek Bachchan. A failing career and bad press had left Vivek in doldrums. In fact, the actor came to Ramachandrapur Ashram, Girinagar in Bangalore in search of peace after his split with Ash.

But, the dark clouds seemed to have cleared now. Last year’s film Kurbaan boosted his sagging career, though the recent movie Prince did not make megabucks at the box-office. With his next release Rakta Charita things seem to be looking up for him. When contacted the Alva family refused to comment on the wedding, citing sensitive and privacy reasons. So has Vivek finally found his perfect Sathiya!

Looks like Vivek has finally gotten over the shadow of ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai in his life, and is ready for a life-changing relationship of his own.
