Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Karnataka's capital Bengaluru on Friday. PM Modi inaugurated mega infrastructure projects here today, including a new terminal of the city's Kempegowda International airport. South India's first Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at Krantiveera Sangolli Railway station in Bengaluru.

Passengers at Bengaluru railway station were in for a treat as Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the fifth Vande Bharat Express train connecting Mysuru, Bengaluru and Chennai. 

It will help cut travel time between the 3 destinations.. 

Passengers who boarded the train on the inaugural run from Bengaluru railway station on Friday gave positive reviews about the train and lauded PM Modi for providing the first semi-high-speed train in South India.

He also flagged off the 'Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan' train, which is operated by Karnataka's Muzrai Department, under the 'Bharat Gaurav' train policy of Railways, reported. "It will fulfill the dream of numerous travellers intending to undertake Kashi Yatra," according to the South Western Railway.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. While finding him not guilty, the High Court had said there was no evidence to prove that the animals who were found dead were shot by Mr Khan's licensed gun. Veteran Bollywood actor Om Puri died on Friday morning of a heart attack. The actor, who made everyone laugh with his comic timing in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Malamaal Weekly, Hera Pheri on one hand and left everyone in his awe with his acting prowess in films like Ardh Satya, was 66.
