After weeks of intense speculation, one of India’s most popular couples – Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma – got married in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy. The wedding ceremony took place on Monday (December 11) with only close family and friends present at the function.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli said in a joint statement, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

2013: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were cast together in a shampoo commercial. This was the beginning of their romance.
January, 2014: Virat headed to Anushka’s apartment after arriving in India after the South Africa tour.
April, 2014: Virat went to meet Anushka on the sets of her film Bombay Velvet and PK. They took notice of each other’s social media posts too.
October, 2014: They were spotted together at an Indian Super League match. Next month, he blew a kiss to Anushka during a match with Sri Lanka.
December, 2014: Australian commentator Michael Slater called Anushka, Virat’s wife by mistake.
March, 2015: Virat was impressed with Anushka’s first independent production NH10. He wrote about it on Twitter.

The newly wed couple will travel to South Africa where Virat will start prepping for the upcoming series and Anushka will spend New Year’s Eve with him and return in the first week of January to begin the next schedule of Anand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. She will also start prepping for Sui Dhaaga as the shooting for the same starts in February 2018 with Varun Dhawan. Anushka will also be busy with the marketing and promotions of Pari which is releasing on 9th February.
Post their wedding the couple will be moving to their new residence in Worli, Mumbai in December.
