Fukrey Returns Is A SUPER HIT

Fukrey has emerged a SUPER HIT film as its second Friday collections look to be in 2.75-3 crore nett which takes its overall total in eight days to 52.50 crore nett. It is a solid hold for the second Friday with collections down 25-30% from the previous day. The weak new releases have helped the cause of the film a little that will be equalled up as Tiger Zinda Hai releases next week. The film has easily emerged the biggest small film of the year and it is very rare for a small film to become aa Super Hit as they just score in a handful of cities but Fukrey Returns has managed to go wider than the regualr small film. The last small film to emerge a Super Hit was Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Fukrey Returns is a very similar film aimed at the same audience.

The film is probably looking at business in the 75 crore nett region and could be higher if it can get some decent numbers post the release of Tiger Zinda Hai. The film is also the biggest HIT for the actors, director and producers involved in the film. The producers Excel Entertainment have made big films with big stars like Don, Don 2 and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara but Fukrey Returns is easily a bigger HIT than all those films.

North India has continued to drive the film on its second Friday and this was expected as the Delhi and Punjab markets hold so well post the first week. It could reach near 25 crore nett in Delhi / UP which is insane for a film with no face value and a medium to small budget. Films like Tubelight and Badrinath Ki Dulhania did not reach 25 crore nett in Delhi / UP.
