Fukrey Returns Box Office Report: emerges winner against all odds, earns Rs 19.40 cr in two days
Fukrey Returns Box Office Review: Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Fukrey Returns has been co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sindhwani under their banner Excel Entertainment.
Fukrey Returns, an underdog film about four Delhi friends, has emerged victorious at the box office despite average reviews. Sequel to 2013 film Fukrey, it takes the story forward from where the original left four years ago.
Fukrey Returns has crossed the life time business of Fukrey in just two days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted about the film’s business figures. He says the film has earned more than Rs 19 crore in first two days.
It’s a great achievement as it’s working totally due to a positive word of mouth. Not many gave Fukrey Returns a chance before its release. In fact, the film was supposed to release with Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 1, because everyone believed it won’t have a good chance against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati which was scheduled to hit the screens on December 1.
Later, Padmavati’s release was withdrawn due to the protests by political and religious outfits. It gave Fukrey Returns a window to try its luck on December 8. There it repeated the magic of Fukrey which picked up after a week and became a sleeper hit.
