Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' officially gets renamed 'Padmaavat'

-
Bhansali's 'Padmavati' officially gets renamed 'Padmaavat' : Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' has finally been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and as per the modifications that were recemmended by the board, the producers have officially changed the title of the Ranveer-Deepika starrer to 'Padmaavat'.

CBFC recommended five modifications in the flick to avoid more controversy, the change of the movie-title being one of them.

Apart from this, changes have been ordered in the song 'Ghoomar' to make the depiction 'befitting' the character being portrayed. The other big modification was to change the incorrect or misleading references to historical places.

This is not the first time a movie's title has been a figure of controversy. In 2015, 'Udta Punjab' got into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and had to approach the Appellate Tribunal to get the movie to release with Punjab still in its name.

'Padmavati', now renamed as 'Padmaavat', was earlier scheduled to release on December 1, 2017, but continuous protests and CBFC fiasco forced the makers to shift the date.

The movie features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmavati, alongside Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.

Dum Maro Dum Box Office Collections Report/Review

Image
Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least. The terrific promotions as well as no major opposition to contend with are two factors that should have gone in its favor. But Punjabi film DHARTI, starring Jimmy Sheirgill [in North India] and Telugu film MR. PERFECT, starring Prabhas ...
