Born into the distinguished Tyabji–Hydari family, Aditi's paternal side boasts a significant connection to the erstwhile Hyderabad State. Her paternal great-grandfather, Sir Akbar Hydari, was a prominent figure who served as the Prime Minister of Hyderabad State from 1869 to 1941. His brother, Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, held the esteemed position of Governor of Assam. This side of her family was deeply involved in the administration and social initiatives of their time, holding a noble status within the Nizam's court.

However, Aditi Rao Hydari's royal connections extend even further, stemming from her maternal side. Her maternal grandfather, Raja J. Rameshwar Rao, was the last ruling Raja of Wanaparthy, a princely estate located in what is now Telangana. The Rajas of Wanaparthy were among the most influential and wealthiest feudal lords under the Nizam of Hyderabad, playing a crucial role in the region's history, including the creation of armed forces. Aditi's mother, Vidya Rao, is a renowned Hindustani classical singer, further illustrating the family's deep-rooted connection to arts and culture.
