The decision to postpone the wedding indefinitely was immediate and reflective of Smriti’s deep bond with her father, who has been a constant pillar of support throughout her cricketing career.

The Incident: According to Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, Mr. Mandhana's health started deteriorating rapidly during breakfast.

Hospitalization: The family quickly called an ambulance and rushed him to a private hospital in Sangli. Family doctor, Dr. Naman Shah, later confirmed that Mr. Mandhana was experiencing left-sided chest pain (angina) and that cardiac enzymes were elevated, requiring immediate observation.

Prioritizing Health: "Smriti is very clear that she is not getting married without her dad by her side," a source told reporters, confirming that the wedding has been postponed indefinitely until Mr. Mandhana recovers.

The Venue: Decorations at the Samdoli venue in Sangli were immediately ordered to be removed following the medical emergency.
