"Sitaare Zameen Par" is a 2025 Indian Hindi-language sports comedy-drama film directed by R. S. Prasanna and starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. It's considered a spiritual successor to Khan's acclaimed 2007 film "Taare Zameen Par," although it's not a direct sequel.


Plot

The film is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film "Champions." It revolves around Gulshan Arora (Aamir Khan), a short-tempered and insensitive assistant basketball coach for the Delhi team. After a drunk driving incident, Gulshan is ordered by the court to perform community service by coaching a team of young athletes with intellectual disabilities, including autism, Down's Syndrome, and Fragile X Syndrome.

 
 Initially reluctant and dismissive of his new team, Gulshan slowly begins to understand and connect with them. The film explores his personal growth and transformation as he learns valuable life lessons from the "Sitaare" (stars) – his players. The story follows their journey as they prepare for a national basketball tournament, highlighting themes of acceptance, individuality, and resilience.
