Akshay Kumar's latest laugh riot, Housefull 5, is not just making waves domestically but is also creating a significant splash in international markets. Early box office reports indicate that the multi-starrer comedy is poised to emerge as the number one Indian film of 2025 in both New Zealand and Fiji, already surpassing the lifetime collections of other major Bollywood releases like Salman Khan's Sikandar and Ajay Devgn's Raid 2.


The comedy-drama, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, opened with a bang in these Pacific Island nations, demonstrating the enduring global appeal of the Housefull franchise and its lead star. In just two days of its theatrical run, Housefull 5 has scored an impressive NZD 196K (New Zealand Dollars), a figure that has outstripped the entire theatrical cumulation of its Bollywood contemporaries in the region.

This stellar performance is particularly noteworthy as Indian films, while having a dedicated audience overseas, rarely dominate the box office against major Hollywood releases in markets like New Zealand. However, Housefull 5 defied expectations, even securing the #1 spot across New Zealand on its opening day, Friday, June 6. It raked in NZ$79,834 from just 41 screens, outperforming major Hollywood titles currently in cinemas, including From the World of John Wick, Lilo & Stitch, and Mission Impossible.
