Arjun Rampal and Wife Mehr Jessia are Incharge of IPL 2010 After Match Parties

Arjun Rampal and wife Mehr Jessia Rampal, event managers organising all the IPL Night Parties and fashion shows

The Event Management company run by actor Arjun Rampal and wife and one-time supermodel Mehr Jessia, organising the IPL parties, has already kicked off its series of 55 DLF IPL T20 after Nights parties, each to be held after the day's match at the concerned IPL venue. It was Mehr who came up with the idea and approached IPL Chairman Lalit Modi with it. "These are teams whose members otherwise play together but are now pitted against each other. It's really a friendly atmosphere and the cricketers are looking forward to enjoying it. And from what we saw when IPL started off two years ago, there's every occasion to get-together and celebrate. We have planned 55 fashion shows and 55 parties in all," said Mehr.

There will be an After party following every IPL Twenty20 match, all 55 of them. Every party will have fashion shows by designers such as Manish Malhotra, Sanchita Ajjampur, MANOVIRAJ KHOSLA GAYATRI KHANNA DEV & NIL JASON & ANSHU MANISH ARORA. Bikini-clad models will walk the ramp as players, team owners and the city's glitterati get together.

It's not going to be a lame mix. Each party will have time dedicated to fashion shows by well-known names on the circuit. At the second semi-finals in Bangalore on April 22, internationally acclaimed Manish Arora will have a show. At One of the parties the models on the ramp will sport Sanchita Ajjampur's Spring/Summer collection with its bikinis and short dresses in digital prints. Says Mehr, "Especially Putting together the fashion shows, which is where my connections in the fashion world came handy, we are very hands-on with the make-up, the models. The effort is also in taking nationally known designers to cities which would otherwise not have the opportunity to see their collections. It's paying off - at the Chennai after party on Sunday, James Ferreira was sold out." The exclusive guest list takes care of matters like that.

Another interesting aspect is that every team will have a specific ambience. The host of the party will be the team in whose city the match is played. Like if KKR is playing Mumbai Indians in Mumbai, then Mumbai Indians will be the hosts, adds Mehr. For a logistical nightmare that it could turn out to be, Mehr, to manage the bash and events has put together a team of about a 100 co-ordinators who started work four months ago.

Mehr is excited that the parties will be televised to open them out to a greater audience. Looks like they were serious when Adam Gilchirst said, "Aapko bahut miss kiya," in those IPL 3 ads announcing the game's return to desi turf.
