Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli love story: From love, break-up to engagement rumours. See pics

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli love story: Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have denied the rumours of their engagement. See how this much-in-love couple met, broke up and got back together.

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli are a much talked about couple at the moment. For a while now, we have seen the two holding hands and attending various events together. With a few reports claiming that this Bollywood-meets-cricket couple is all set to take their relationship to the next level and getting engaged on January 1 at Uttarakhand’s Narendranagar, Virat had to step in and clear all the confusion.

The Indian Test captain tweeted this morning, “We aren’t getting engaged & if we were going to, we wouldn’t hide it. Simple… (1/2) 2/2)Since news channels cant resist selling false rumours & keeping you confused, we are just ending the confusion :).”

Well, we see how beautifully Virat, without naming Anushka, cleared this whole confusion. The actor also retweeted Virat’s post.

Check Virat Kohli’s recent post on speculation of his engagement with Anushka Sharma:

" we aren't getting engaged & if we were going to,we wouldn't hide it. Simple... (1/2)
" we aren't getting engaged & if we were going to,we wouldn't hide it. Simple... (1/2)

Well, all these rumours are put to rest for now but Anushka-Virat relationship is no stranger to rumours. In fact, theirs is a relationship which can be interpreted through their social media accounts and the play of rumours.

How Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli love story began:

Anushka and Virat met each other in 2013 when they worked together for a TV commercial. They were spotted together at various places and in no time, the rumours about these two dating each other started doing the round too.

Addition to Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli love story:

What made the speculations alive were times when Virat came in limelight of spending time with the Sultan actor. It was South Africa tour in January 2014, when team India arrived at the Mumbai airport and instead of going with rest of the cricket team, Virat went to Anushka’s apartment. The fact that the two started following on social media was also noted.

Virat was also in the news as he gave a surprise visit to Anushka in Sri Lanka, while she was there busy shooting for her film, Bombay Velvet. When Anushka was shooting for Aamir Khan-starrer PK in Udaipur, Virat was again seen on the sets and this time it was to celebrate her 26th birthday.

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli’s public appearances

They made their first public appearance in October 2014, where the two went to watch an Indian Super League game together. Post this, we saw the many times. Be it at the airport or as among the spectators in the cricket grounds.

Virat Kohli’s flying kiss

Well, we cannot not mention the incident when Virat, after achieving a milestone in a match against Sri Lanka in November 2014, blew a flying kiss towards Anushka, who was watching the match.

Soon, Virat even admitted to his relationship with Anushka at an event, and said, “Whatever is there is out in the open, I have nothing to hide.” Anushka also accepted their relationship and gave a similar statement at another event. The actress said, “We are not hiding anything. We are being two normal young people in a relationship.”

The rocky roads in Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli love story

Like any love story, Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli too faced controversies. During the promotion of NH10 in the year 2015, Anushka lost her cool as she was being grilled on questions relating to her relationship with Virat. Some time later, Virat too went ahead and verbally abused a journalist. Virat later apologised.

Virat also appreciated Anushka and her film NH 10 on social media. He had tweeted, “Just watched #NH10 and i am blown away. What a brilliant film and specially an outstanding performace by my love @AnshkaSharma. SO PROUD :)”. In reply to this Anushka too posted, “@imVkohli Thank You. So happy.”

When Anushka Sharma got addressed as Virat Kohli’s wife

The moment when Australian commentator, Michael Slater, mistakenly addressed Anushka as Virat Kohli’s wife during the final day of the third test match between India and Australia, on December 2014, in Melbourne.

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli’s rift

As per various reports, Anushka’s sexy photoshoot for a men’s magazine cover did not go well with Virat. It was reported then that Virat showed his displeasure towards this. Reportedly, they had a major fight on this over the phone.

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli’s breakup

Reportedly, Virat was keen on settling down with Anushka, but she wanted to focus on her career, leading to the two calling it quits and unfollowing each other on social media.

Anushka Sharma being trolled, Virat taking it up

Anushka received a backlash whenever Virat failed to perform on-field. However, they both did not comment about it in public ever. Post their breakup, Virat Kohli was seen performing well and thus people went on posting insane memes and offending posts about Anushka Sharma. There were comments like– ‘thanking her for breaking up with Virat’.

But this did not go down well with Virat and the aggressive cricketer took to social media to show his displeasure. Take a look at his SHAME post.

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli patch up

The duo was out of the limelight and was seen busy in their respective work. But love beckoned and the duo followed each other back on social media. We saw Virat receiving Anushka at the airport and also as the cricketer’s date on his 28th birthday party.

In recent months, this couple and surprised their fans with their frequent appearances together. Be it the lovebirds attending cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s Goa wedding with Hazel Keech together, or Manish Malhotra’s 50th birthday bash, where they entered hand-in-hand and posed for the shutterbugs.
For now, the couple has taken off to Uttarakhand together, and will reportedly celebrate the New Year together with each other’s parents.

And we wait to see more of this love story, in the coming time.

Shah Rukh Khan gets nostalgic about his iconic onscreen costumes, characters and 25 years in Bollywood

Over the span of almost 25 years, Shah Rukh Khan has portrayed many characters through his films. And a few out of these seemed to have remained with him forever. And as much as these characters left an imprint in the minds of his audience, they remain an integral part of SRK’s life too.

The actor took to his Twitter account and shared something special for his fans, something that reminded everyone about his long and enriching career. Shah Rukh will be completing 25 years in Bollywood in 2017. From playing a romantic guy to obsessive lover, a caring husband to a best friend, SRK has experimented with all kinds of roles. And along came several memorable characters too. The superstar was on a trip down the memory lane while cleaning the iconic costumes from his films.

Shah Rukh must have played over 200 characters on screen. But despite this, he feels he has not been able to be anything. Sure we don’t agree with this.

In the tweet, that he posted on Friday (December 30), SRK wrote, “Cleaning 25yrs of costumes collected from my films. From the ‘cool’ chain 2 Fan jacket. Nostalgic..i hav been so many ppl & still been none.” Well, lets take a walk back to trends of Bollywood’s King Khan.

Shah Rukh’s memory starts from the ‘Cool’ chain from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Fan’s jacket which still remain with him. Along with him even his fans remembered all the times when the actor gave serious fashion goals to everyone.

I feel like I’ve joined the herd mentality of the silent society: Karan Johar

Filmmaker Karan Johar, whose Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was caught in a controversy for featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, has said he has become “scared” of expressing his opinion freely despite the fact that he continues to be “liberal” as a person.

“I’m a liberal. In a headspace, that is extremely progressive about many things. But I just feel like I can’t say anything. I feel like I’ve joined the herd mentality of the silent society,” Karan said on “Bollywood Roundtable 2016 with Rajeev Masand”.

“I feel scared to raise a point in my film, I feel scared to give an opinion and then I feel scared what’s going to happen during the release of my film,” added the filmmaker, who was under attack from right-wing Hindu outfits for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Karan, known for his flamboyance and romantic dramas, said a filmmaker needs to go beyond just being behind the camera, to deal with actors.

“Actors, according to me, are the most vulnerable, insecure human beings that exist. And I think it’s not possible for you to just deal with them professionally. From a very young age, I discovered you are their counsellor, their guide, their therapist, their everything,” added the filmmaker, who has a lot of friends in the industry and he gets them to open up on their secrets via his chat show Koffee With Karan.

Karan was on “Bollywood Roundtable 2016 with Rajeev Masand”, with names like Ram Madhvani, Ali Abbas Zafar and Nitesh Tiwari. It will be aired on CNN-News 18 India on Friday.

Kangana would have done an adult film had she not got ‘Gangster’

OMG! Kangana would have done an adult film had she not got ‘Gangster’

We all know what it is to be an outsider to an industry made for the opportunists. It has never been easy to make a mark in an industry where your hits and flops decide your future. And to not be an insider or a star kid has its own disadvantages. And so it has been equally difficult for the likes of Kangana Ranaut to get lead roles in the industry.

Kangana has managed to make a mark in the industry, with films like 'Tanu Weds Manu','Queen', and 'Fashion', Kangana has proved time and again that she is in the industry to stay! She debuted in Anurag Basu's 'Gangster', after which there was no looking back for her. But had it not been for 'Gangster', Kangana's would have ended up doing an adult film.

Talking to on TV show 'Vh1 Inside Access', Kangana revealed, " I think the first ever would be the break that I got from my film 'Gangster'... Because I remember getting a very shady offer, I think it was not a right movie. But I was like, 'Okay, fine, I'll do it'. "

Adding further to it, she revealed, " And then I did a photo shoot and then they gave me a robe and there was nothing inside the robe. And it looked like some blue film or something and I was like, 'This doesn't look right'. Because it's obviously not the right film. "

Box Office: Dangal enters 200 Crore Club, goes past Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Happy New Year, 3 Idiots, Ek Tha Tiger lifetime in 8 days

Box Office: Dangal enters 200 Crore Club, goes past Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Happy New Year, 3 Idiots, Ek Tha Tiger lifetime in 8 days

Dangal had another good day in office as it continued to collect on the second Friday as well. Typically, a film falls between Thursday and Friday due to arrival of a new biggie. However, there was no such threat for the Aamir Khan starrer since it is practically the only film in contention. There was no new Hindi release yesterday and hence there was no reduction in count of shows either. Moreover, audience interest is continuing to be on high, as a result of which Rs. 18.59 crore more came in.

The film has now collected Rs. 216.13 crore and in the process entered the 200 crore Club. There have been only 9 films before Dangal that have managed to go past the 200 crore mark and the Nitesh Tiwari directed affair has already gone past three of these – 3 Idiots, Happy New Year, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – which feature Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan respectively.

  • PK – Rs. 340.8 crore
  • Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Rs. 321 crore
  • Sultan – Rs. 301.5 crore
  • Dhoom 3 – Rs. 284 crore
  • Kick – Rs. 232 crore
  • Chennai Express – Rs. 227 crore
  • Dangal – Rs. 216.13 crore
  • Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – Rs. 210 crore
  • Happy New Year – Rs. 205 crore
  • 3 Idiots – Rs. 202.5 crore
  • Ek Tha Tiger – Rs. 199 crore

Today, the film will go past Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express as well and Salman Khan’s Kick as well. That would bring it at Number 5 position of the All Time Biggest grossers. While all these records would be tumbled in a jiffy, it would be a while before Dhoom 3 would be a story of the past. It would be interesting to see how fast does Aamir Khan manage to beat his own film because post that it would be time to enter the top league and aim for the 300 crore club. All Time Blockbuster. *Estimates. Final numbers awaited.

Top 12 Bollywood & TV Biggest Breakups of 2016

2016 would be recorded as the year of the most heart breaking split since Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor went their separate ways. In 2016 the seemingly perfect Brad Pitt-Angelia Jolie togetherness dissolved. No one knows why it happened. Was it just meant to be? The Indian entertainment industry has never seen so many seemingly perfect couples ending their relationships.

1. Farhan Akhtar – Adhuna:
The year started with the absolutely shocking end of Farhan Akhtar’s 15-year marriage with Adhuna with a simple mutual statement that spoke of growing apart. Farhan’s close family and friends were caught aback. Says a Farhan confidante, “We had no clue this was coming. Sometimes you see a marriage falling apart in front of your eyes. This one, we didn’t see coming. Farhan and Ahuna never let their differences show in public, never fought in front of family and friends.” If 2015 shocked us with Hrithik and Susanne’s split this year it was Farhan and his hairstylist wife Adhuna who split in spite of their genuine concerns about their two growing daughters. Talk about a ‘heir’-raising experience.

2. Sushant Singh Rajput – Ankita Lokhande: We thought they were for keeps. When rumours of Sushant and his girlfriend of 7 years calling it quits began to float around, Ankita Lokhande firmly denied them. But Sushant remained ominously quiet. He had made up his mind to move on. Says a mutual friend, “Ankita never saw the split coming. She thought she had Sushant on a tight leash. But Sushant felt dominated and smothered. After stardom he was getting a lot of female attention. He wanted to play the field. He pulled the plug.” Amen.

3. Ranbir Kapoor – Katrina Kaif: Katrina was stunningly devoted and hopelessly in love, more so than she had ever been. As she confided in a friend, “I’ve actually had only one previous relationship (with Salman Khan). And he was, and is, more like a mentor, guide than a boyfriend.” Ranbir was Katrina’s first real boyfriend. And she enjoyed playing the girlfriend, looking after their home together, planning a life ahead, and so on. She even decided to cut down on her work for love. But then Ranbir did what he always does. After the conquest he got tired of the victory. He moved on. RIP.

4. Arbaaz Khan – Malaika Arora: It’s final. It’s official. Arbaaz and Malaika are getting a divorce. How did the couple part ways after 18 years of marriage? Apparently Malaika wanted out. Says a friend of the Khan family, “After their differences became apparent to both of them, Arbaaz tried hard to stop the marriage from dissolving. He even got his brother Salman to intervene. But Malaika wouldn’t hear of a patch-up. Mentally she had moved on a year ago. She waited patiently for the right time to put a formal closure to a marriage that died at least 5 years ago. She just couldn’t bear to be married to a man who couldn’t really get out of his superstar-brother’s shadow. There are rumours of a relationship with a star-son. And those rumours are true. Goodbye, marriage vows. Hello freedom.

5. Pulkit Samrat – Shweta Rohira: This was the marriage of denial. Though Samrat denied there was another woman on the scene, his wife very clearly blamed actress Yami Gautam for their broken marriage. We knew whom to believe. And this time, we didn’t really care. - See more at: http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/news/features/biggest-breakups-2016-bollywood/#sthash.Ts6KJsq2.dpuf

6. Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel: They found love during the eighth edition of controversial show Bigg Boss. The couple split apparently over their respective careers. Rumour had it that while Karishma was bagging projects one after another, Upen was yet to bag a good project. With the tiffs escalating between them, both Karishma and Upen apparently decided to part ways amicably.

7. Pearl V Puri and Asmita Sood: The actors met on the sets of Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil. The rumours of the break-up reportedly began after the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram. Asmita had also told a website that since they were no longer friends, they need not follow each other on social media as well.

8. Mayuresh Wadkar and Ajisha Shah: The couple participated in dance reality show Nach Baliye 7. Apparently, they were going strong even after their stint on the reality show, but differences cropped up in November last year. The couple decided to part ways amicably in February after things didn't work out between them.

9. Kritika Kamra and Siddharth Bijpuria: Kritika and her rumoured boyfriend corporate PR Bijpuria broke up after differences cropped up between the couple. Reportedly, Siddharth wanted to get married and settle down, while Kritika wanted to focus on her career.

10. Ravi Bhatia and Heena Parmar: The couple broke up apparently because they were unable to devote time to their relationship. Rumour had it that Ravi moved to Indonesia for work and Heena's reported closeness with a producer was said to be one of the reasons behind the breakup. Although Heena confirmed she and Ravi are no longer together, she refuted the rumour of her relationship with a producer.

11. Sara Khan and Rishabh Tandon: The long distance was apparently the reason for their split. Sara lives in Mumbai whereas businessman Rishabh resides in Delhi.

12. Anas Rashid and Rati Pandey: Anas and Rati called it quits after apparently dating for several years. However, they are still on friendly terms and care for each other.

2016 Rewind: 10 best Bollywood films of the year

How does one even attempt a year-ender list like this, without expecting a bunch of abusive trolls and smart naysayers going, "What? Really?" Well, ideally, you don't. You can't compare apples and oranges. But hey, somebody has to. And it's fun, and apples and oranges are fruits, why can't you compare them? So well, here's what we thought were the 10 best Bollywood movies of 2016. I don't know how many of them you've already seen. Most of these I can catch again. But then again… Okay, so let the arguments begin!

1. Dangal: Yeah, it's become almost a cliché already to call it the best film of 2016. And our initial first was that it'd be a clichéd, strict-coach, underdog talent 'sports film', which it's so not, while it wonderfully explores not just wrestling as a sport, but relationships — between society and girls, father and daughter, sport and government, city and village… And most significantly, Aamir and his annual Christmas audience! Nobody I know left disappointed; yet again.

2. Pink: Films are meant to entertain, or rather engage. But some, I suspect, should just become part of school curriculum. This brilliantly edited thriller set around a bunch of young single Delhi girls, should be made mandatory viewing to counter casual misogyny of North India. A stupendous, timely wake-up call.

3. Kapoor & Sons: Minimalistic, realistic, hard-hitting, and possibly the most personal film in the mainstream space this year, this drama about a dysfunctional Indian family rivals the best of its genre across the world, with some seriously top-notch performances from everyone, in particular veterans, Ratna Pathak Shah, and the adorable Rishi Kapoor. Do visit this family if you haven't, and you may just find your own somewhere in it too!

4. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story: Chronicles the life and times of one of the most popular living Indians, with such fine use of SFX, candid story-telling, and hey, Sushant Singh Rajput in his element, essaying the rise and rise of Dhoni and small town India into Indian cricket. And well, finally, a film on cricket that gets its cricket right! Haven't watched anything like this in Bollywood before.

5. Aligarh: Dark, quiet, deeply disturbing true story of homophobia that defines our society, and perhaps, a college campus as well. Who better than Manoj Bajpayee to guide you into the mind of the soft-spoken Professor Ramchandra Siras, a man of letters, wrecked by hate and bigotry around him. Few films let you into a character's life so gently, so beautifully.

6. Udta Punjab: The opposite of the Punjab of mustard fields we've always consumed in Bollywood movies, this kick-ass, smartly directed thriller entertains yet jolts you into acknowledging drugs as the bane of Punjab's youth in a state of rapid disarray. Some films are less dangerous, but equally satisfying highs of their own. Udta is clearly one of them.

7. Fitoor: What's a list that doesn't stick its neck out? I'll tell you why Fitoor belongs here. First of all, you've not seen it. The bad press ensured few have. Give it a shot: check out the stunning locations, fabulous camerawork, two of the hottest looking actors on screen (Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif), and arguably the best Bollywood soundtrack this year (title track, and 'Pashmina' in particular). The story, Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, was never going to seriously disappoint anyway. All this put together makes Fitoor, IMHO, the most under-rated mainstream film this year. Hence the soft corner on this page!

8. Neerja: Set pretty much in one large room with a whole lot of people in it — the inside of an aircraft. Capturing an event (hijacking of Pan Am flight 73 in 1986), and one person, flight attendant Neerja Bhanot's role in it, that is hardly driven by manic action or solid mortal combat. And yet the film holds your attention for two hours plus. This must've been the toughest film to direct. And Ram Madhvani pulls it off with young Sonam Kapoor. Wow. No, seriously, wow!

9. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil/ Befikre/ Dear Zindagi: Okay, rom-coms tend to have a polarising effect on popular appeal; they always have. But what's there not to love about films that at every level reflect the loves and lives of the contemporary young — keeping it all fun, even frothy sometimes, yet delve very seriously into the most immediate #FirstWorldProblem of our times: choice, or rather, too many choices. Why settle for a relationship, and eventual heartbreak, when hook-ups and friendships suffice? Yes, this is the coffee shop conversation of the urbane young in 2016. These three wonderfully enacted, directed dramas are also some of the best conversation starters I know.

10. Fan/Sultan/Airlift: What's common to these three wholly disparate films? They have major super-stars, slowly but surely, trying to break the mould, push the envelope, and go beyond what their core audiences have always demanded or expected from them anyway. Akshay Kumar (Airlift) was the first to take a lead in that direction by the way (with similarly smart thrillers like Special 26, and Baby). Sensible and fun, Sultan, with Salman Khan, trained to look and perform like a professional wrestler, spouting local dialect, is a far cry from Salman Khan who's been playing Salman Khan for a couple of generations now. And if anybody had told me, at the beginning of the year, that there is a Shah Rukh Khan film coming up that has no songs in it, I wouldn't have believed it. Fan needs to be seen to be believed, enjoyed and whole-heartedly embraced. These are signs of great super-star times ahead.

What to Expect from Rishi Kapoor's Autobiography

He is known for his candid talk and sharp tweets. So expect Rishi Kapoor's autobiography to be a tell-all. The veteran actor tweeted the cover page of the book. He wrote, "My autobiography, Rishi Kapoor — Uncensored. Khullam Khulla releases January 15. This one's from the heart, my life and times, as I lived it!" The book, he says, is funny, motivating and inspiring. We can't wait to lay our hands on it.

Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan party in Goa

Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan are in the midst of a divorce, but it did not stop them from sharing the same frame in what looks like a night of revelry in Goa, with family and friends. Malaika, with sister Amrita, mom Joyce and friends, has been chilling out on the sandy beaches. Amrita posted this snapshot on Instagram.

Shraddha not comfortable sleeping in other people's homes

Shakti Kapoor has rubbished reports about dragging daughter Shraddha Kapoor out of Farhan Akhtar's house. The actor who had shared a photograph of his with wife Shivangi with this reporter on Christmas day from Goa said, "you have my photograph which I had WhatsApped on Christmas and the report said I was in Mumbai. The entire report is baseless. I have told my daughter not to get harrowed by such malicious stories."

Shakti Kapoor goes on to add that he met his sister-in-law Padmini only last night to hand over the Goan food. He added, "they said I was there with her and the truth was I was with Siddhant and my wife Shivangi in Goa. Shivangi is still in Goa I came back for my shooting in Mumbai and I don't even know where Farhan lives."
Shakti Kapoor even refutes the claim that his daughter has moved out of the house. "Shraddha has three houses and one of which has been gifted by me. She is a home bird; I don't really remember Shraddha sleeping out even if it is late night or early morning. She always comes back home. She is not comfortable sleeping in other people's home."

Shakti Kapoor also does not buy the story of her daughter's relationship with Farhan Akhtar. The doting father said, "I don't think she is in relationship with Farhan. Shraddha comes and tells me everything and has never told me anything about this. She respects Farhan a lot."

Kapoor adds, "I told Shraddha when you acted with Aditya Roy Kapur your name was linked with him, then it was Shahid, then Farhan after you worked with him in 'Rock On 2' and now you are working with Aditya again we will get to see more media reports about the same and may be with Arjun Kapoor after 'Half Girlfriend'."

Shakti Kapoor is all praises for the Farhan Akhtar and his family. He said, "I respect Farhan as an actor, Javed Saab and Shabana Azmi. I know they must be equally disturbed by this report."

Viral Video: 'Patriotic' Pakistani actress Mahira Khan takes a dig at India and Bollywood

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who is set to make her Bollywood debut opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 'Raees', can be seen taking a dig at India and Bollywood.

The clip shows Mahira Khan saying, "Aapko India se inspire nahi hona chahiye. Bilkul nahi. Hum Bollywood nahi hain (You should not get inspired from India. Not at all. We are not Bollywood)."

The video is said to be from a chat show hosted by Pakistani comedian Omar Sharif few years back.

Earlier this month, Shah Rukh Khan assured Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray that Mahira Khan will not come to India for promoting the film.

In view of SRK's clarifications, the MNS will not oppose the January 25 release or screening of 'Raees' in cinema halls.

After September 18 Uri attack that left 19 Indian soldiers dead and the September 28 surgical strikes by India on Pakistan terror camps, the MNS had strongly protested against hiring of Pakistani actors by Indian film-makers.

Thackeray had vowed to stop release of a few films in which Pakistani actors are playing roles, including Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and SRK's 'Raees' which has cast Mahira Khan.

MNS had staged dramatic protests prior to the release of 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' but finally relented after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis brokered peace with MNS, Johar and the Film & Television Producers Guild of India.

This paved the way for the film's peaceful release and exhibition across Maharashtra on October 28.

Aamir Khan is the new Raj Kapoor, says Rishi Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor has lauded Bollywood superstar Aamir Khans sports drama film Dangal and has tagged him as the “new Raj Kapoor”.

Dangal, which released on December 23, has tugged at the heartstrings of audiences for its powerful portrayal of the tale of Mahavir Singh Phogat, a former wrestling national champion who, much to the disapproval of his wife and his whole village, trained his daughters Geeta and Babita to wrestle.

Rishi took to Twitter on Saturday to laud Aamir’s acting and compared him with his late father and legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is currently being praised by all and has even crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in just eight days since its release. The film -- backed by Disney India-- has collected Rs 216.12 crore at the domestic box office.

Don’t philosophise until rich first: Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood’s romance king Shah Rukh Khan, who is one of the Bollywood stars in the Forbes list of worlds top 20 highest-paid actors, has said people should make money first and then philosophise. The onscreen ‘King of Romance’ says there’s nothing romantic about being poor.

In an interview to GQ India’s January 2017 issue, the superstar said: “Don’t philosophise until you’re rich first. I used to be poor, and I can tell you there’s nothing romantic about it. When young people, friends, say they want to be great creative novelists, I advise them to be a copywriter first, make a little money. Don’t be a struggling artist; be a happy one.”

What does he like spending money on?

“It’s very important for me to smell good. I mix two fragrances - a Dunhill scent that’s only available at their London store as well as a Diptyque one. I’m not big on fashion, but I have a good eye.

“I don’t like wearing formal shoes, so I mostly buy sneakers. I recently picked up these pre-distressed, worn-in Golden Goose sneakers, which both my son and Ranbir Kapoor tell me are all the rage,” he said.

The “Dear Zindagi” star lost his parents fairly early on. Talking about the impact on him, he said: “I’m 51. I lost my dad when I was 14 or 15, and my mother when I was 25. That void never gets filled. If you lose your parents too early, you have to grow up too fast. You can’t play with toys, you have to start playing in the real world.

“I play with my children’s toys now. People find it odd, and think perhaps I’m just a good father, but that’s not true. I’m just a father who didn’t have toys.”

He said his father passed away suddenly, and then his mother redeemed the situation for a bit.

“Then she died suddenly and we were all shaken up again. Today, I don’t know whether it’s better to lose your parents when you’re young and get over it faster, or to have them around and see them get older.

“It’s a bit childish, but I do believe they are looking out for me, stars in the sky, perhaps. I think I recognise them, but it’s quite possible I’m praying to someone else’s parents.”

Asked about his bucket list, he said: “My family used to own restaurants, so there’s a part of me that’s quite servile. I’m learning how to cook Italian food. I can make pasta, risotto and tiramisu right now - but what I really enjoy is serving people, and making sure they’re well fed. I’m building a new kitchen, so I can cook more.

“I also want to learn to play the guitar well. A few years ago in Spain, I bought two really expensive guitars - one for me and one for my son Aryan - and told him that we should learn to play together. The good thing is he has, and he’s pretty good. AbRam, my three-and-a-half-year-old, is musically inclined too. If I ever do learn the guitar, we could have our own boy band.”

He also spoke of his thoughts on social media, for GQ India’s 100th issue. “We live in an age where we are over-informed. There’s a lot of noise - the TV guys think I’m five hours late, the newspaper guys feel they’re a day late - the emphasis is on putting news out there. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not because it’s no skin off their back. But the truth is, it does matter, and there are real implications.

“On social media, people say and do things that are barely legal because nothing is really regulated online. It’s like that inappropriate family member you’re always shushing because they’re being plain offensive. The digital world is full of these rude family members - sometimes it’s like they’re the only ones left.”

Indian cricketer announcing marriage on cricket field is awesome

The whole world was focussing on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's possible engagement, but on the sidelines, another Indian cricketer quietly announced his marriage. But the manner was so touching that it melted the Internet

While the whole world was focussing on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's possible engagement, one of his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates actually went ahead and announced his marriage in a most unique way that will melt your heart.

Sachin Baby, who plays for RCB in IPL and Kerala team in the Indian domestic circuit, announced his marriage to Anna Chandy in a grand fashion.

The 28-year-old cricketer proposed to his girlfriend, whom he has been dating for a year-and-a-half, on the cricket field.

The video of the proposal and the announcement of the wedding date has gone viral and been seen close to 1.5 lakh times and become one of the trending videos since being uploaded on YouTube.

The video begins with Sachin Baby thanking the Kerala Cricket Association, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sachin Tendulkar fans. It shows a sporting Anna running in and disturbing Sachin's timber, clearly showing the cricketer was clean bowled by the BDS graduate. The couple, who are seen in RCB kits, then announce the wedding date -- the duo will tie the knot on January 5, 2017 at St. Sebastian’s Church in Thodupuzha.

The two are then seen lying on the cricket ground in Bollywood style with the trademark trumpet sound of the IPL in the background.

Sachin, who joined RCB from Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 9, has scored 119 runs from 11 matches for the Kohli led franchise.

The left-handed batsman, who made his debut in domestic cricket in 2009, has played 47 first-class matches scoring 2092 runs with three hundreds and 11 half-centuries. 2016 has been good season for him since he managed to hit his career's highest score this year -- 250 not out against Services.

Anna, meanwhile, like Ravindra Jadeja's wife Reeva Solanki, is preparing to crack the IAS exams.

While Sachin may not have made the Indian team yet, his stylish proposal and wedding date annoucement video has surely set a very high standard for all Indian bachelor cricketers to beat.
