Dangal: Aamir Khan’s film has an impressive opening in US, Canada

Aamir Khan’s film is already on a winning path. The film has opened big in the US and Canada markets. It earned Rs 2.21 crore even before its formal release in India, where it’s getting rave reviews. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s business figures in the key western markets.

Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is inspired form the true events that took place in the life of former Haryana wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Aamir Khan has played Mahavir in the film.

Mahavir, who couldn’t make it big in the world of wrestling, wanted his son to do bring the elusive gold medal for India in the same sport, but he has a daughter. His dream found its way through his elder daughter Geeta, who made the country proud by winning the gold medal at 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi..


The film’s first day business figures in India are yet to come out, but it seems Khan has a winner on his hands.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. Ra 1 makes approx 14.63 crore at the box office on Day 1 of release Ra.One will not set a new first day record as the final day 1 collections coming in are well off record pace especially in North and Central India. Some circuits are 50% short of Bodyguard while others are similar. Ra.One has collected around 14-15 crore nett on its first day as per early estimates. The collections are only for its Hindi version and regional version may have added around 1 crore nett. It may turn out to be the second or third highest first day ever but around 30% less than the record of Bodyguard which released 2 months back comparing like and like and just its Hindi version.
