3 Alia Bhatt films in the top 5: IMDb’s list of 2016’s top Indian films out

IMDb, the world’s biggest movie website, has released their list of the top Indian movies of 2016. Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink and Akshay Kumar’s Airlift led the pack.

The list, like the one IMDb released for international films on December 20, is based on the number of visitors these films’ pages attracted on their site.


The rest of the top 5 is made up of Dear Zindagi, Udta Punjab and Kapoor & Sons, which all star Alia Bhatt interestingly.

Ra 1 makes approx 14.63 crore at the box office on Day 1 of release Ra.One will not set a new first day record as the final day 1 collections coming in are well off record pace especially in North and Central India. Some circuits are 50% short of Bodyguard while others are similar. Ra.One has collected around 14-15 crore nett on its first day as per early estimates. The collections are only for its Hindi version and regional version may have added around 1 crore nett. It may turn out to be the second or third highest first day ever but around 30% less than the record of Bodyguard which released 2 months back comparing like and like and just its Hindi version. Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least.
