Petrified’ by love, actor Prateik Babbar wants to focus only on acting now

Actor Prateik Babbar has no time for love right now, and says he is petrified of it.

Actor Prateik Babbar has his priorities set, as he only wants to concentrate on acting as of now. So much so that the 30-year-old actor says he has no time for love either. “All my energy and focus is towards acting. That’s the only thing I want to do as of now. I am not looking for love, and frankly I don’t have time for it either. Right now, I will say I am petrified of love,” laughs Prateik.

Prateik was in a relationship with actor Amy Jackson for a year, after they fell in love while shooting for the film Ek Deewana Tha in 2011. There were reports that Amy left Prateik owing to his “possessive” nature. Although he doesn’t want to talk about his past relationship, he admits he is trying hard to change as a person.

“I am learning to be more humble and giving as a person. I am rediscovering myself and that’s why I feel I’m not in the right space to get into a relationship. Whatever happened in the past has happened, and I don’t want to talk about it much. My only focus right now is improving myself as an individual, and concentrate on acting. Love can happen later,” says Prateik who is the son of popular actors Raj Babbar and Smita Patil.

The actor however does not dismiss the idea of falling in love in the future. “I am not averse to the idea of being in a relationship. In fact, I think everything in this world can be solved through love. Love is everything. Humility is another form of love and that’s what I am trying to be now - more humble,” says Prateik.

The Dum Maaro Dum (2011) actor who is doing stage plays these days, hopes to sign a Bollywood film soon and wants to become mature at an emotional level. “I need to improve a lot as a person. I am trying to work for myself and make myself happy, first, so that everyone around me and related to me can feel that happiness,” Prateik adds.
