Kabir Khan to make a series on World War 2 after Salman Khan’s Tubelight

Kabir Khan may not be involved in the sequel to his blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai (Ali Abbas Zafar is directing the same) but the filmmaker has already made plans post his current project and it is equally intriguing. Considering the filmmaker’s love towards war dramas and patriotism, we hear that Kabir Khan will venture into the digital space with a similar subject.


Reportedly, Kabir Khan plans to make a web-series set at the backdrop of World War II that will be directed and produced by him. Described as a war epic, the series is being touted as the Indian Band of Brothers. Further, it is being said that the series which will be comprising of about 10 episodes will touch upon varied subjects, including exploring Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army as well as the contribution of women in the army.

Besides this, it has been learnt that the series will be built on a massive budget, even more than a couple of Kabir’s films. Said to be shot extensively abroad with a few portions in India, the series is currently in the scripting stage. Apparently Kabir Khan will start work on the same once he wraps up his much ambitious film Tubelight. The star cast and other details are yet to be finalized.

Tubelight, that also marks the debut of Chinese model turned actress Zhu Zhu, too is a period drama set amidst the 1962 Sino-Indian war with Salman Khan playing the lead and it also stars Sohail Khan in a prominent role.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. While finding him not guilty, the High Court had said there was no evidence to prove that the animals who were found dead were shot by Mr Khan's licensed gun. Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least. The terrific promotions as well as no major opposition to contend with are two factors that should have gone in its favor.
