Kalki Koechlin in Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film, My Friend Pinto Opposite Pratik Babbar

Kalki Koechlin has bagged the female lead role in My Friend Pinto. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali production stars Prateik Babbar and is directed by Raghav Dar. This is the Second big Film she has signed After Zoya Akhtar’s Running With The Bulls which stars Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol.


Apparently, the producer and director were looking for a fresh face. Raghav had been impressed with Kalki after seeing her in Dev D and he suggested her name to Sanjay. Sanjay agreed and after a screen test, selected her for the film. Kalki will be paired opposite Prateik.

Shooting of My Friend Pinto begins on May 20 2010. Kalki is paired opposite Pratik while Manisha Koirala has a pivotal role.

Ra 1 makes approx 14.63 crore at the box office on Day 1 of release Ra.One will not set a new first day record as the final day 1 collections coming in are well off record pace especially in North and Central India. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor.
