Salman, who is the Brand Ambassador for the IIFA charity Initiative, has shown his concern for the Tamil soldiers, who have suffered due to the three-decade long waging war in the island country.
The construction of the homes in the village of Ja'ela is part of the IIFA's Charity initiative to rehabilitate those affected by war in the country.
In order to help the people in a more systematic manner, the star went on a visit to the affected area.
Salman Khan went to the affected village called Ja’ela, with the former Miss Sri Lanka and bollywood entrant Jacqueline Fernandez, to get a first hand account of what the position of those people was.
It was the opening day of the IIFA celebrations when the two visited the village and saw what the condition of the affected people really was.
Reportedly, the hunk said that since he was in charge of the IIFA initiative, he should be aware of what things were like in reality, and to build around a hundred houses was not a light matter. He even gave a statement that Big B, should have come for the IIFA ceremony, since he was the Brand Ambassador for the event.!
