Unlike her Indian counterpart Deepika Padukone, who chose to dazzle the crowd with a gorgeous ivory coloured sari, Aishwarya chose this embroidery-layered strapless gown with lacquered black jet beads and multicolored crystals at the bust. A Ferragamo black satin clutch completed the look

Aishwarya in black is much better than the lavender gown she wore the day before (Click here for pictures of Aishwarya on Day 1 of Cannes). We just hope she takes a cue from Deepika and revamp her wardrobe a little.

The film is a hit on the strength of its opening but whether it becomes a blockbuster is in doubt as collections in the evening at places could not keep up with its bombastic start in the morning. Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. While finding him not guilty, the High Court had said there was no evidence to prove that the animals who were found dead were shot by Mr Khan's licensed gun.
