Pakistan-born author Tarek Fateh slams Kareena and Saif for naming their son Taimur

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, who welcomed their first baby boy, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, on December 20 have been facing backlash ever since they have announced the name of their son. While a few celebrities have supported the couple's freedom to name their baby as per their wish, many have questioned their choice of name as Taimur is similar to Timur, a barbaric ruler who had invaded India in the 13th century.

Pakistan-born Canadian author Tarek Fatah was the latest to voice his displeasure on the subject. The author took to Twitter and posted, "U r either illiterate or arrogant @KareenaOnline. By naming yr son #Taimur u hv ensured he'll be equated to a mass murderer of Indians 4ever."

He went on and even gave Karan Johar, who revealed the name online, a piece of his mind and wrote, "You're happy Kareena and Saif named their son Timur, a man who had committed a genocide of Hindus in India? What is wrong with u @KaranJohar?"
