Aditya Chopra overwhelmed watching 'Bajirao Mastani'

Mumbai: Director-producer Aditya Chopra was at loss of words after watching ‘Bajirao Mastani’, reveals actor Ranveer Singh. Chopra is to direct Ranveer in ‘Befikre’, which will mark the filmmaker's first directorial venture after 2008 romance ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. "He (Aditya Chopra) has seen 'Bajirao Mastani'. I don't think he likes me to tell people what he tells me. For the first time, I found him... we were talking over phone... He was fumbling for words. He was unable to find words. He did not know what to say. He was very proud," Ranveer said in an interview here. The 30-year-old actor also said that megastar Amitabh Bachchan has sent him a letter praising his performance in the historical drama, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. "Today morning, I received my first award for 'Bajirao Mastani'. A handwritten note from Mr Bachchan. Among young actors like Parineeti Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut it's all become a thing.....

Dilwale Box office report Vs Bajirao Mastani Box office Report/Review

Image
Dilwale had a strong opening of around 65% while Bajirao Mastani was slower with a 30% start on average with the clash really only happening in multiplexes of Mumbai and Pune while the rest of the country saw a healthy advantage for Dilwale. Dilwale had a very big lead in East Punjab, Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and East India while most other areas outside Mumbai and Pune had a good lead. The gap in above circuits was double and even more at some centres. It was certain properties of Mumbai and Pune where both films had similar occupancy. The key area Gujarat also saw Dilwale leading and it will important for Bajirao Mastani to close the gap in the evening if it is to have any chance of competing as without Gujarat the film can't go anywhere. Despite the strong opening, the screenings of Dilwale are 65% of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with around 12000 shows per day compared to 18000 plus of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. If the film can get a 20 crore nett plus number up on day one, fair value fo...

Bajirao Mastani Movie Review Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was determined to make a film on the lives of Peshwa Bajirao, Kashibai and Mastani for quite some time now. The supremely talented raconteur kept vacillating between numerous actors, before he chose on the present star cast of BAJIRAO MASTANI. Although historicals were well-liked -- and commercially feasible, if I may add -- at a point of time, the swelling budgets and comprehensive study and research that went into making a historical compelled quite a few present-day film-makers to abandon their dream projects and opt for contemporary themes. Bhansali stood his ground and waited for the opportune time to commence the project in question. It's a pre-requisite to possess a mega budget, have exhaustive knowledge of the subject matter, possess nerves of steel to handle the gigantic cast/crew and last but not the least, the vision and fortitude to bring a historical to life on celluloid in today's times. You can face instant rejection from the paying public...
