Deepika Padukone turned down Oscar nominee Majid Majidi’s film, but why?
It all started when Deepika Padukone’s look test pictures for Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds got ‘leaked’ before going viral. Rumours started that Deepika had bagged the lead role in Majid’s next. Within a few days, more reports came out suggesting that the Iranian film-maker “let her pass because she didn’t fit the bill”. At the same time, it was also rumoured that since the pictures of Deepika’s test shoot ‘were leaked’, the makers felt that she was using the shoot pictures to further her interests in the international arena. Now, there’s another twist to the story. Sources say that Deepika, who has a lot of respect for the director, apparently did the look test without a script.
